Two men go to war over Angelina Jolie. Understandably so.

Droll, low-key comedy is great fun when trading off the energy and tension of Cusack and Thornton's simmering rivalry which both men play with gusto, and Blanchett and Jolie bringing a distinctive freshness to their characters. Unfortunately an intriguing twist in the relationships is botched for its plotting potential, instead leading to an increasingly dreary and predictable final act. So good for so much of it that I'm going to be generous with my score; a shame about the botched landing.

I am thinking this was supposed to come off as incredibly edgy and as a great dark comedy but it didn't. Cusack and Thornton have some decent back and forth.

Have seen it, remember nothing of it, will assume it was pretty bad.

Amusing and fairly entertaining, without doing anything extraordinary.

Only John Cusack could make a film about air traffic controllers interesting. But he does it, and he has some help from his cast-mates Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie.

Not as funny or as cool as the individuals involved clearly thought it would be, but OK.

Nothing really memorable about this film at all. Some occasional laughs here and there but ultimately forgetable and mediocre.

Kinda a boring film. It's listed as being solely a comedy, and I didn't laugh, either. I'd say it's a failure at what it was trying to do, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't have been great if the pieces would have come together better. Perhaps you can lay this on the feet of Mike Newell, but maybe not. Why this movie is so mediocre is probably just an enigma. I don't get it. You probably don't either. Fuck it. Let's just go masturbate to Cate Blanchett's nude scenes in Elizabeth.

Angelina Jolie raised the score about 20 points. Otherwise...a bit too dark for a comedy. Great acting all around, including Vicki Lewis from News Radio. I miss her.

Good pace to the movie, and although some might not find it that interesting as a pilot I enjoy anything aviation-oriented ;)

The cool thing is getting macho posturing & game playing so well. The
dialogue is frequently perfect, & John's tortured position resonating. All the
same we are treated to a full helping of schmaltz at the end, and i was dying to
see John figure it out sooner so my own personal discomfort could end.

Why does John Cusack ruin perfectly good movies? The main character just needed a kick in the balls the whole time.
