Frankie Reynolds (Frankie Darro' ), youngest member of a family of jockeys, borrows $4.85 (yes, four dollars and eighty-five cents) from his sister Phyllis (Gladys Blake), who is not a jockey, to buy a crippled colt from the stables owned by Clay Harrison (Kane Richmond). Jockey movie for little Frankie Darro to star in. It's got all the typical ingredients for horse racing movies. Bad guys trying everything to stop our hero's horse from winning. Hurting the animal, framing and kidnapping the jockey. And Darro makes the race with a gunshot wound! What a brave kid! Or a really really over the top script! Even for a low budget movie. Well, these movies are never meant to be realistic. Best bit for me was professional drunk Arthur Housman doing his thing.
