'80s teen sports movie with all the cliches, but damn does that montage music get me going. Nice twist of the rival not being a jerk. Lori Loughlin looked young. Fun seeing a small Canadian town, but why do movies always have to pretend to be American? Terrible dialogue between mom and Cru. Twins dancing in Star Trek jumpsuits. There's no rule against dogs racing BMX. Fav scene: the qualifying race reusing the hell out of the song.

Likable if only because there's very little real conflict despite all the necessary conflict tethered to these things. His mom is upset but immediately forgiving. His rival is pretty much just good at what he does and immediately respectful. Even after his love interest goes through the breakup bit all he has to do to win her back is point to a cartoon sign that promotes friendship. I want so desperately to live in the world of Rad.

Rad is ... rad! I couldn't even function after they brought out the bikes during a prom dance and weren't bullied into absolute dust. Fun soundtrack, super smarmy teen villain whos maybe 33, the Helltrack. Delicious.

I didn't understand why Cru had to make the choice between biking and the SATs. Seriously, was community college not invented yet? Or, alternatively, he could have maybe taken the test some *other* time? At least you get to see Lori Loughlin before she got Stamosed.

Was quite nice/weird to see this in the multiplex. Of course there was 4 people in the audience. Lot of fun. Lot of great close ups. Also one of the hardest I ever laughed was during a parody of this movie during an American Dad episode so ya

A kind of astounding mishmash of cliche and 80's sauciness--a kid is trying to qualify for "Helltrack"... this leads him to do a BMX dance duo thingy set to the Scorpions... kids curse, and adults flip each other off. The obstacles this kid faces, though, you have seen 100 times before, just like his relationships with his mom and girlfriend. I enjoyed watching this because it's clear that parts of it inspired the creators of Hot Rod, but it's not a rad movie at all.

Every time I watch it I feel like a loser for not dancing on my BMX at prom.

Good fun. Shot the race and other bike scenes pretty well, but that’s because it’s directed by an actual working director and not some guy.

I loved this movie as a kid. if you have a kid that loves bikes then this is the movie for him/her. Not one of those fake cgi bike movies.

It's an 80s movie about bmx racing. That's pretty much it, apart from some terrible writing. Rifftrax: 60

I would have loved this as a kid, but never saw it before. I don't think it was as big in Europe as it was in U.S. It's a prime example of an underdog sports film with BMX bikes in it's core. The story is nothing special, but it has a nice flow, the soundtrack is cool and it just oozes 80's atmosphere. Lori Loughlin is very cute and BIll Allen is relatable, and seems to be doing some of the stunts himself. Our kids seemed to really enjoy it as well, which is quite impressive for a film from '86.
