Gripping thriller transcends its potential made-for-TV roots, thanks to fine performances from its cast, and an exceptional one from Gibson in the lead. Director Howard unfortunately indulges in zippy directorial flourishes which distract rather than enhance the drama; the sporadic violence when it comes is also surprisingly graphic for this sort of low-key drama.

Tom Mullen a multi-millionaire whose son is kidnapped, while he starts following the instructions he figures out that there is no plan for him to get his son returned, so he goes to extreme levels to out play the kidnappers. Good performance from Gibson showing great intensity against the kidnappers.

I loved this movie as much as I could love a suspenseful action flick. I know they're exciting and all, but I must admit I don't love frantic action. That's why I liked this though. The action was matched by the intense drama. Ya gotta admit that as a pre-antisemite, Mel was the best!

Memory is a little hazy, but I think this film is about a gifted mathematician having his brilliant - and potential Fields Medal winning - research into the Langlands problem in number theory stolen by an upstart rival French mathematician Laurent Lafforgue and his band of number-obsessed brothers. Our hero and victim spends most of the film crying out "give me back my sum!".

This would be a better book than it is a movie. I like the story, but howard doesn't allow much emotional impact (and gibson really pours it out well) to set in before he's on to the next step. Im also not entirely convinced of sinise's motivations...and how exactly he got his girlfriend and their little group together.

"Is today Jimmy Shaker day?" I think that Gary Sinise made this movie. He really did come off like a bad person and that made me enjoy it that much more. The plot wasn't unbelievable and I like the movie unfolded, I liked the ending, overall a very good movie.
