It’s pretty boring in the middle which should be the juiciest part. This was the first instance in my film viewing life where I kinda wanted it to be a Hellraiser in disguise.

A fun and entertaining emulation of some recent stellar, self-aware, or shall I say meta horror movies such as "You're Next" and "The Cabin in the Woods," and while this does have its own unique take one the fledgling genre, there are better, but regardless, you won't go wrong with this. Bare in mind that I rarely stoop to low scores for any movie featuring a head explosion.

I thought it looked pretty meh. I ended up having a great time with it. I laughed out loud on a few parts and felt like grinding my teeth on others. Weaving is pretty great, and I also enjoyed O Brien and Brody quite a bit. Just about everyone does their part well. I don't see why others are getting bored with it. I thought the pacing was perfect, especially for a 95 minute movie. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who doesn't like horror comedies, but I thought it was great fun!

A throwback to 80's style popcorn flicks. Characters are just cannon fodder for our "final girl" to wade through, and the ending is a hoot (and very refreshing)

I had fun with it? It was a good ride? I liked it? I really can't change any of those into actual statements. They remain questions.

A delightfully thrilling and gory ride, Ready or Not is highlighted by a balance between horror and humor and a stellar lead performance by Samara Weaving.

I went into this half heartedly because I've been disappointed with most horror comedies But twenty minutes in I was hooked it has the perfect combo of horror and comedy in my opinion

I normally stay away from horror movies like open sewers, but this looked like something in the vein of Zombieland. It isn't but it stays away from the cheap theatrics of typical horror flicks, is actually pretty well written, liberally laced with dark humor, and doesn't take itself too seriously like "The Shining" (except for the "here's Johnny" part). Samara Weaving is a double for Margot Robbie, and yes, she's the Aussie niece of Hugo Weaving.

I was expecting a horror film - not a dark comedy (and a great one at that). This film locks its sites on skewering the rich (from not working to get what they have to the 3rd and fourth generations not knowing how to keep the ship on course) and it doesn't let up for 1 minute. Weaving is terrific. I wish there had been some more odd weapons & some more magic props but all in all I'm impressed.

Lighthearted and fun (albeit somewhat predictable) "horror"-comedy, that uses gallons of theater blood for gags and scares in equal measures. I'd prefer a more restrained, thematically strong ending, but appreciate the joy in the cathartic nonsense road they chose.

This movie is dumb as a rock. I'm not a horror fan, but I am a horror comedy fan. The only attempts at comedy are all the same: Every 15 minutes or so, one of the bad guys accidentally kills another bad guy. Yay. I would have been better off staying home and watching a Wile E. Coyote cartoon.

Ready or Not wears a lot of it's influences on it sleeve (*cough cough "You're Next" cough cough*) It plays on so many tropes, but it plays into them so well that you kinda forget it's limitations. It's simple synopsis, cliche elements, and predicability is its biggest downfall, but it knows that, and instead runs with it. It the end, we get a good genuine balance of a horror/comedy that doesn't overstay it's welcome (96 min) and makes for a pretty good time. I'd recommend this

gritty, but not overwhelming.funny, but not childishly so¬ so much that it removes a sense of threat.threat is maintained by good writing.hunted Samara Weaving holds her own without becoming an unbelievable badass.Shes ALWAYS in danger, escaping through equal combination of luck and brains.Weaving is the reason to watch this.absolutely steals the show with great expressive delivery to the point that the rest of the cast, despite definitely being on their own A-games, just pale in comparison

Ready Or Not isn't exactly subtle, and it probably could have done with one less go-round at the end, but it has a lot of fun getting there and Samara Weaving needs to get more work.

People really liked this one. I don't know; I thought it was alright. I think there's definitely the makings of a great film in Ready or Not, but even for a turn your brain off gorefest, I couldn't decide what this movie was trying to scare me with and what it was trying to tell me. Maybe it's just trying to tell me to lighten up.

Does a good job with a halfway balance between unapologetically leaning into its absurd premise with gory panache while also striking a wry, darkly humorous tone. Watching the white wedding dress gradually soiled with filth and blood through the film acts as a visually clever “progress bar.” A few escapes feel a bit samey after a while, and I could live without the piss yellow filter color scheme that seems to be annoyingly popular lately.

You are either Ready or Not to have an absolute blast with this film. Dredging up teen heartthrob Adam Brody as a sultry, brooding family member with a slight beard was a nice addition.

At the outset the movie starts setting itself up very similarly to Knives Out, with snappy dialogue and intrigue. Now to be fair, there's an unfortunately-simple "out clause" to the family's insanity, which is, don't get married, maybe? Oh right but "there are rules" and "you would have left if I hadn't proposed within 18 months". I mean, it's just a little unsatisfying is all, even though there is more than enough entertainment to be found throughout. I just can't truly say that I loved it.

A punchy, contained, but ultimately really fun little film. Seemingly coming as a byproduct of the recent popularity of cult and game based horror, "Ready or Not" exists just below full-blown satire. Thrives on its ability to balance tension and humour with sharp, clear writing.

It keeps you focused and engaged before ultimately deciding to go with the most insane possibility you could ever think of happening. It's a little bit too messed up to call it great and gets a little slow during the middle. I can see why some people call it unique and interesting but every twist and every turn was spelled out for miles on end. Anyone deserving of redemption didn't receive it and the ending just completely craps all over offering a more subtle approach to storytelling.

Samara Weaving is marrying into the very wealthy and fairly dysfunctional Le Domas family. On her wedding night, she learns that there is a family tradition that dictates that every new member must play a game selected at random. She picks hide and seek, and the results prove to be deadly. This a pretty straightforward, but well-executed genre exercise. It's well-paced, funny and thoroughly entertaining, if pretty predictable.

The old "rich people have a pact with the devil" trope works for a while, but it's just too bad the execution never feels as relaxed and creative as it should, despite a strong performance by Weaving. But I really loved that splatter ending -- bodies exploding from the inside as the curse revealed to be actually true.

While Ready or Not isn't incredibly unique, Samara Weaving is worth watching in anything. Her grit and frustrated screams elevate this pulp to something almost palpable. The nightmarish mansion is full of ridiculous characters doing ridiculous things.

A pretty fun horror comedy. It's much more horror than comedy but it has the proper attitude to be labelled as such. Samara Weaving is great as is most of the cast. The dialogue is fun in the moment even if the motivations and backstories are somewhat weak at times. Worth a watch if you don't mind the genre and over the top blood.

Moronic fun. A near pop-leftist masterpiece squandered by not knowing when to just end a movie and trying a bit too hard with jokes when it wasn't needed. Horror movies are fun and good in modern times

Delightful little black comedy murder romp (not really a horror at all). Samara Weaving was fantastic in this, there's a lot of fun action and doesn't really get bogged down too much.

If "rich jerks hunt people for sport" is a subgenre in it's own right, the this movie is to this as Cabin in the Woods is to slasher movies. Although not quite on that movies level, because it doesn't feel a need to satirize the fact that non-rich people like to see rich people die grizzly deaths.

Ready or Not is an entertaining romp that narrowly misses the mark of being genuinely good. The aesthetic is great with some good comedic shots. The cast is works well, portraying their characters as maniacally hilarious and detestably devoted. Weaving however feels out of place, in that she fits in with the family rather than being the kind person we are told (never shown) that she is. Ultimately, the film spends too much time following her screaming her way through a conventional horror movie.

A fun enough romp with Weaving shining in one of the most female cosplay friendly roles in recent years. Ready or Not seemingly had all the ingredients for a perfect horror comedy but does fall flat in a few key areas of the execution leaving the end result as merely entertaining and above average for the genre.

Ready or Not is undoubtedly a lot of fun and unique. I personally loved the overall "antique shop" atmosphere. Old weapons, old house, old wedding dress. It gave the film a personality it wouldn't have normally had. It's not a perfect movie, by any means, but if you're looking to have a fun time, this film will satisfy you

Wonderfully indulgent both in concept and execution, shockingly humorous, and completely engaging. The narrative is a bit untidy at times and the satirical elements aren't anything particularly novel, but I loved it nonetheless.

With a great lead performance by Samara Weaving & an equally great supporting one by Adam Brody, it also features strong work across the board from a solid cast & has plenty of humor mixed in with the darker moments. However, the mixing of those two elements doesn't always work out, with more than a few of the comic moments feeling out of place or forced. The plot also gets a bit ridiculous at points & several characters feel flat. Overall, though, it's still a fun ride that's worth a watch..

Love this new subgenre of a film that can be described as "fuck rich people." A throwback to 80s fun, gory, albeit predictable slasher. Samara was brilliant and probably one of the best final girls in recent times. Such a cathartic experience watching her fuck up the family and the ending!!
