Realive is a thoroughly disappointing movie, ruined by bad writing. The main character wakes up from cryo-sleep and asks if there are spaceships, and his doctors laugh in his face; a scene that is both frustrating and indicative of the rest of the film. Chaplin and Le Bon are decent, but the former is party to a ridiculous storyline and the latter is merely a supporting character. The rest of the cast is terrible. The film and characters are pretentious at best, and just too tedious.

A fascinating take on cryogenic reanimation, love and personal satisfaction. A bit heavy handed, dark and depressed, especially near the end. The pace was deliberately slow, but was mostly engaging and interesting. Performances, music and filmography was good. The writing was somewhat weak, but mostly saved by the appealing subject.

poetic narrations, dizzy camera, non-linear narrative and ... can't rescue the movie and it's just a romantic Sci-fi drama that stuck on the surface. PS: DI7+SC5+CI6+ED7+AC7+SO7+OV6+WH7+MY6+WO0

Realive puts everything it has to offer on the table in the first 30 minutes and plays with it for the rest of the movie. The only upside was that it was really soothing.

One of the very few movies I've tapped out of. Struggle needs to build up to, not descended down from. This was a 15 minute Black Mirror episode stretched into two hours of mainly flashbacks. Non-linear storytelling doesn't work when I'm supposed to be endeared to the characters and sympathise with their struggles but am only shown the reason AFTER they've gone through the struggles.

Realive has its wisdoms and asks some good existential questions, but it's repetitive, meandering, occasionally off-putting, too nihilistic, and too self-serious.
