Endlessly convoluted (and tiresome) plot, with more double crosses than you can reasonably be expected to keep track of. Thank god it doesn't matter who's with who anyway; They work together on and off, willy nilly, regardless of ideology/allegience, based on who most recently delivered a monologue. Fun actors, fun roles, unfun story. I was disturbed by the lack of blood accompanying all this violence. "Sorry about the mess on the carpet", says Bruce. Followed by literally no mess on the carpet.

Red 2 fails to live up to its predecessor in every conceivable way. Red was a decent movie at best, a light-hearted affair. Red 2 destroys any sense of fun from this franchise. This is made even more obvious by phoned in performances by nearly the entire cast. Add in a plot that doesn't attempt to make sense with a terrible score and you get Red 2.

This was the first time I saw an action movie and the love story actually worked against the pace of the film. It seemed to drag it down and actually felt a bit tacked on. Translation: This was the first time I saw an action movie. Period.

Bruce Willis was a bit glib. Mary-Louise Parker was doe-eyed & quirky. Helen Mirren was good. John Malkovich was also entertaining. Catherine Zeta Jones & Anthony Hopkins were underutilized. The comedy aspects subtracted somewhat from the action spy thriller. Many crazy moments, escapes & gun fights were satisfying but also unconvincing. Awesome production quality, SFX, sound & music. Some clever writing & good direction. The setup for the cheeky ending was humorous. Some funny stuff.

More explosions, more car chases, more Helen Mirren firing ridiculously large gun while wearing slinky evening wear, more Sandra Bullock-style delivery from Mary Louis Parker and more old people than Thanksgiving at the nursing home. Geri-action at its most luke-warm.

I enjoyed it very much. It's indeed funny and the story is well developed enough. They're super cool, super competent, but also bleed, make mistakes, etc., which is something absent from super agent movies.

Disappointing. CZJ in her role was about as convincing as a cat playing a shoe (patent pending), which might not be her fault. Mirren and Willis were darn good again in their roles along with Hopkins and Lee, but it just wasn't as interesting and funny as the first one. Is it just me or did it seem like Malkovich's character became a lot more 'normal' in this sequel.

I loved the first one. I thought that the first one was incredibly funny, everyone did a great job and the action was on point. The sequel seems more dry and not as funny, as I only laughed a couple times, the action is fine but not amazing and the cast does a good job but they don't really have as much to work with this time around. But still, it was an entertaining action comedy.

This movie is just too over the top which isn't normally a bad thing but it just needs some more, I don't know, brutality and not the cartoony kind as shown here, they're all just more super human then in the first film. None of the violence has any consequences and no one even really dies in this. And my God Mary-Louise Parker is super annoying in this and I actually liked her in the first movie. I don't think I've ever even seen Neal McDonough in a really good movie, that must mean something.

Disposable, gore-free carnage and guns-blazing aplenty. It is almost concerning how cartoonishly violent this film is hidden under its PG-13 rating. The impressive cast line-up saves the movie and ultimately makes Red 2 a little more fun than its predecessor. It's definitely watchable for some bang-bang and a few laughs, but it's no more than a silly forgettable cartoon.

Red 2 is notoriously amateurish. I don't know if it was my theatre, but even the sound felt... muted. On a basic stupid-popcorn-flick level, I couldn't even enjoy it because the explosions were dialled down and blood is verboten because it traumatizes children or something. It feels like they spent most of their money for the cast, but the cast doesn't even do much. Even Malkovich isn't half as funny as he was in the first. Horrible green screens and a predictable plot... so forgettable.

This is unwatchable, even when you're trapped on a plane next to a frustrated infant who is continuously squirming and crying and vomiting. I preferred the comparatively lulling sound of the babe to the lobotomy and existential crisis that this film invoked. At least Zeta Jones is cute enough.

The long awaited sequel of Red,Which was way more fun. its still has that undeniable well balanced chemistry between the original cast of Willis,Malkovich,Parker, and of course Hellenn Mirren. unfortunately though, their wits and charisma aren't enough to cover tedious premise and over rush plot.the fun and excitement from the first movie is almost none to be found. Instead of it,"Red 2" is stuck in a loophole of lackluster action scene that involves heavy machine gun and origami killing tools.

It's very simple film. In that, it brings what worked in the first, adds a few new elements and delivers pretty much what you would expect. Problem is that it's not as fresh and not as exciting anymore. The plot is very predictable and I guess the best part is that none of it all that serious.

I enjoyed Red 2 more than I enjoyed the original. I really don't like movies that get the band back together, but Red 2 wasn't as offensive as some others. They made some great additions to the cast in this movie. Byung-hun Lee was a really good addition to the cast. Hollywood movies need to quit ignoring the stellar Eastern talent that is out there. I'm glad that Red 2 made a move in that direction. Anthony Hopkins was the best addition to the cast. His character was a real surprise; a treat.

The obligatory sequel that comes with any moderately successful movie nowadays. Quite often they fail, this one does, but it still retains a moderate amount of entertainment. This is good enough that I'd probably watch a third one, to be honest, but it's not going to wow anyone.

The gang from the first Red movie are back and are as nutty as ever. The filmmakers have great style with these flicks and the effects are quite simple but impressive. The story is pure fiction and that's ok. The acting is very good from this cast of mostly veteran actors. The chemistry between Willis and Malkovich is spectacular and funny as hell.

For me the appeal of RED 1 was seeing the retired agents getting sucked back into the game and using their experience to kick ass. With RED 2 most of the original cast return with some new faces but age is never a factor or mentioned this time around so what made RED stand out originally is completely lost here making RED 2 a pretty forgettable mediocre light actioner.

All viewers get, then, is a series of amped-up but well-worn action sequences, a mounting tally of dead or dying, and a nuclear explosion that's shrugged off like one more annoying sign-up letter from the AARP. Retirement might not always sit well with the James Bond types. But for some movie ideas, it can be the best choice for everyone involved. (pluggedin.com)

The only memorable part of this movie are the hand-drawn comic-booky transitional title cards. That's it. Much like the first film, this only exists as a chance for its aging stars to kick back and enjoy being the unlikely heroes of a shoot-em-up actioner, but it's so vacuous as to be completely forgettable. I saw the first RED in theatres on opening night and had forgotten everything about it by the next day. I wiped my mind of everything about this sequel in even less time.

For every thing I liked about the movie, there were many things that disappointed me. Brian Cox and Catherine Zeta-Jones were wasted. Helen Mirren's Victoria is a treasure, whereas Mary-Louise Parker's Sarah is a hypocrite full of internalized misogyny. I also desperately wanted to see more of Byung-hun Lee's character. But nope, let's have endless boring couples trouble between Bruce Willis and Parker.

The plot is as clichéd as in the first one, but more sloppily executed and relying even more on plot conveniences. But the real problem is that it lacks the quirkyness of the first one. While I'll admit that it is funny how everyone have an opinion on Frank and Sarah's relationship, the actual romance is neither funny nor cute, the whole jealousy subplot should have been killed and Sarah's shtick of being a thrill-seeking incompetent gets old really fast.

I howled at Red so I was bound to like Red 2. Not enough scenes with Byung-hun Lee (Han), who is one damned hot Korean martial arts star, nor of Brian Cox & Helen Mirren. Director makes erroneous assumption that viewers only want to see Bruce Willis, John Malkovich & girlfriend Mary Louise Parker. They also assumed we'd be stoked to see Catherine Zeta-Jones playing a *YAWN* sultry Russian spy. Things only really heat up when Helen Mirren or Byung-hun Le are in sportscar, him driving her shooting

After Die Hard 5 I said a protagonist has never been more annoying but Willis may have topped himself here by adding even more stupid smirks and patronizing remarks to his macho lead. Elsewhere we're treated to a billion convenient last-second saviours and nearly as many eye-rolling villains in a mess of a plot I gave up on halfway through, while the dark humour from the first film becomes just plain disturbing (mirrored by the overload of bloodless killings). At least Marvin was still funny.
