Red Flag

Karpovsky is easily my favorite character on Girls (largely because he reminds me a lot of myself), so it's a little disappointing that this is so emphatically lower-tier mumblecore. Granted, he still reminds me a lot of myself but that doesn't make this any less mediocre, nor the forced pathos of the ending any less strained and unconvincing, although it's at least good that the film doesn't let his character off the hook for being a self-absorbed jerk.
