Definitely a interesting Mexican movie. Visually very clear. Stunning at times capturing the atmosphere of these troubled poor fishermen. It's sort of a communistic styled story. A bit slower moving then it's Russian colleagues and sadly the story doesn't intrigue as much as it should have losing steam at important moments. But it's still an intriguing one that I'm sure many will find to their tastes.

Very accomplished technically. The story is a painted-by-numbers Marx inspired tale of oppressed impoverished workers who unite to take over the means of production, but its humanitarianism and naive convictions combined with bleached out modern photography lend it almost religious austerity.

The film is a beautifully shot drama. The story of the struggle for fair wages and to be treated with dignity is a universal one. However the film is done in broad strokes which kept me from becoming invested in the story and the characters lacked depth which kept me from caring too much.
