Remake, Remix, Rip-Off: About Copy Culture & Turkish Pop Cinema
Cem Kaya investigates Turkish copy culture and shows how inventively local studios tackled foreign film material; the minimum of means was used to still the continuous film appetites of Turkish audiences. In addition, he looks at the relationship between this film industry and historic and topical Turkish subjects such as internationalisation, censorship and the advent of television. (iffr.com)

I liked that piece because it was parallel to its content: the movie was letting movie buffs and cinephiles talk instead of some pedantic movie critiques like Atilla Dorsay. And it was quite successful in bringing "Yesilcam" movies together and having a meaningful whole. But the star of the film is by far Çetin İnanç, he really made me laugh a lot. Good that it touched upon the cinema's connection with the social relations. One of the best Turkish films of 2014.

OK documentary about (mainly) Turkish popular cinema. It gives you a decent overview, contains some hilarious scenes from the films and might convince you to seek out some of them. It does go on for too long and loses focus a bit in the end, but it will do until a definite documentary shows turns up.

It's too long and unfocused. It feels like 3-4 documentaries about Turkish cinema that were thrown together to pad it out to feature length. The best parts focus on the subject matter you'd expect from the title and trailer.

Sadece içerdiği mühim röportajlarla değil, konu edindiği dönemin bugünle bağlarını da ortaya koyması açısından önemli bir belgesel. Bir o kadar da eğlenceli.
