A lifeless Universal murder mystery. Many familiar faces, but a stiff routine set-up. No dead bodies turns up until half-way through and it's all dull 'women and dresses' stuff before that. Ralph Bellamy plays the detective, but it's Valerie Hobson that's the face of this without that helping matters much. No effort put into making the Rendezvous at Midnight (1935)
