Absolutely rocked. I had heard so many negative reports yet I just enjoyed it so much. Jude Law, Forest Whitaker and Liev Schreiber were perfect together. Such a dark comedy with well filmed action sequences. Could gush more praise and haters gonna hate but I even liked the ending.

Anyone who finds the premise of this film completely outlandish just needs to look at the insurance industry of the US health care system. This film merely takes it one step further from denying care to actually retrieving care given. With that said the film's intriging premise is completely soured is a boring thriller with an ending that makes the majority of the film worthless. Waste of a cast, waste of a great premise.

Pokes a bit of fun at the US's insurance industry with some social commentary, other than that it's a pointless and utterly outlandish futuristic thriller with the worst ending ever. It completely ruins the second half of the film and crushes any chances of the film redeeming itself. There's a ridiculous portion of gore that shouldn't be present and the love interest for Remy should've been completely removed. A huge mess.

An interesting concept ruined by inane writing, nothing makes the least bit of sense in this movie that presumably wants you to think about the issue it's presenting. Jude's wife leaves after ~8yrs because he kills people for a living, though he's been a killer for 15+ years? He's reclaimed THOUSANDs of organs for cash, but despite his modest life can't pay for an organ worth 50 commissions? If you can get generic organs elsewhere, why go to the place that will kill you if you can't pay?

Succeeds 2 well at turning the murder of debtors in2 something routine& humdrum. The worst thing is the missed opportunity in not envisioning future Limbaugh-types& drawing the obvious parallels 2 our current spate of TeaPartiers, all of whom would b defending the company's right 2 murder 2 retrieve their property, if their Ayn Randian contempt 4 healthcare reform or mortgage defaulters is any indication. After all, if people don't pay their debts, the Gov. might force taxpayers 2 foot the bill!

Jude Law is a serial killer repossessing artificial organs from deadbeats in the future, who suddenly develops a sense of remorse when he gets fitted with an artificial heart himself. Leaving aside the preposterous notion that any society would permit a medical corporation to commit wholesale murder against delinquent account holders, this film presents no likable characters and a central romance based entirely on a smoky look across a crowded bar. Only the ending salvages the silliness.

Sort of a poor (very poor) man's Minority Report, with a futuristic dystopian health care industry standing in for Minority Report's futuristic dystopian law enforcement, in both cases our protagonist originally a leader but then the enemy of said organization. Has an impressively gruesome sensibility at points but it's not particularly well-made. HATED the ending.

I like that the sci-fi is kept at a near minimum, so that the sci-fi itself does not become the story, but helps create an original scenery. Law is a man working for the system, but suddenly he finds himself caught up in the very same system and must claim the anti-role and fight those he used to represent. Sounds familiar? Yes! It is indeed a quite classic script; it's good, but inferior to its predecessors, such as Minority Report and Equilibrium. Watch it if you like sci-fi (and some action).

Fans of sci-fi: definitely give this a try. Those who are squeamish about operations and open wounds: consider yourself warned! I found the realistic look of some shots disgusting to the point of being almost unable to keep watching; they are, however, along with the indifference towards these acts, part of the unique world of the film. One nitpick: why make the setup (you'll know what scene I'm referring to) so extremely obvious?

A cool concept that just didn't execute itself very well . Stylistically, it's refreshing (if very reminiscent of other, much better sci-fi flicks), but about two-thirds of the way in, it becomes too ridiculous to be believable, and the twist at the end (which I did enjoy until I realized that the last 30 mins were pointless) was surprising, but unnecessary.

This is an overlooked little sci-fi gem. The concept is simple and works very well and the gory parts are great. Especially the final scene is beautifully composed, with erotic and gory elements very reminiscent to David Cronenberg. There are elements that is quite clichéd, especially the buddy relationship between Law and Whitaker. But Law does some good work and is surprisingly bad-ass for a guy with the physical appearance of a professional bike rider.

I don't really know how to review this. The first one half hours are ok, nothing special but not boring. Then it just goes absolutely bizarre in the final half-hour. The final scene in the vault is absolutely bizarre! Worth a watch with a dozen friends when drunk, but otherwise you can afford to miss this one.

This film will catch a lot of flack for its seemingly outlandish use of camp and gore, but overall I found its social commentary to be similar to some of the profound Philip K. Dick stories, and even though it has its imperfections, the film really has a pulse and a vision. I admired the craft of the film, the storyline, and a lot of the execution. It's a gritty, gory, far-fetched sci-fi chase movie with ambition and I actually really enjoyed it, even through its head-spinning finale.

Not as bad as I was expecting, but the ending is really friggin' sad. It was an interesting concept and I would have liked to see it fleshed out more (plus the 2 women leads in it were uninteresting - the wife was a shrew and the love interest, in my mind, wasn't worth the trouble). On the plus side, I liked Jude Law, Forest Whitaker and Liev Shrieber and some of the fight sequences were pretty cool. But, sadly, it could have been better.

If Repo Men wasn't as derivative as it is, or if its story actually mattered by the end, it would have been a very fun and interesting movie. As it is, it's fun as long as you don't take it too seriously or think too deeply about it. Doing that ruins all of the fun that it does present, and will also make you feel like you wasted a lot of your time. The ending will feel like it comes out of nowhere, and at least you can discuss whether or not you liked that after the film ends.

I'm not sure why this film has been garnering low reviews, but I thought it worked. The futuristic social commentary was right on, particularly the use of Schrodinger's Cat conundrum. Its use of music was great. (What? They wanted it to somehow come out in favor of Obamacare?)

It's fun. There's a little bit of social commentary but nothing massive. Mostly it's just made to be an entertaining action/dark comedy film. What I'm torn on is the twist. Thematically, it makes all kinds of sense and I didn't see it coming. But to basically watch, what, half an hour or more of a movie and then have that twist kind of renders it null. I'm not sure a twist that lasts 5-10 minutes can make up for how stupid the last while of the movie got.

The movie was a festering open wound with no heart. Jude Law wasn't at his best, Whitaker at least looked like he was having some fun but I've seen him do better too. This movie was so violent at times it was hard to watch. I usually don't mind but I had just had dinner before watching this. The movie felt really long. I'm sure open heart surgeries go faster than this film. The biggest slap in the face was the STUPID ending. It is nearly unforgivable. What a waste of time.

an indulgent action movie, making no effort to pull it's self to any shining position of greatness, but does what it sets out to well. it may have an iffy subject and a paper thin twist ending that anybody could see coming a mile away, but that's all par for the course for an action movie of this sort. i was definitely interested and intrigued by a full on five minute scene of self mutilation, i'm all for blood and guts, but still don't know how to feel about that.

Just another generic, unoriginal thriller based on a formula we've seen many times before, set in a supposedly futuristic world whose creators could barely have been any lazier. The effort taken to make this a look like a sci-fi is about 2% of what went into Blade Runner or Minority Report. Evidently the funding was so low because the script and characters are riddled with inconsistency, nonsense and lack of imagination. The director was only interested in sex with knives and barcode scanners.

now this was a pleasant surprise for me, an over-the-top, gory action sci-fi, moulded in the same cast of 80s Verhoeven movies. the story is pretty much predictable, and one may say this style was out of fashion 20 years ago, but I'd say *fuck that* and take this movie as a lesser example of the great ones, such as Total Recall or Existenz.

It's a pass. Had some cool scenes, I actually didn't see the twist coming (but again, there's stuff in the flick that leaves subtle hints about it), but some stuff in there is just roll-your-eyes flimsy. You can tell, once the stylistic tone of the film takes a sharp turn, that they were shooting for self-indulgence and that's it. Law and Whitaker did their jobs well enough, not like they had to be Brando but they did enough and I bought into their dynamic. Not every movie needs to be realistic.

Repo Men is a conceptually interesting film let down by a poor implementation. The actors do a decent job, but they aren't given much to work with. Every relationship is farcical. Conversations either too contrived, expositional or dull. The direction is inconsistent, offering different styles for different scences using the soundtrack as a crutch. I did however like the design of dystopian future offered, and some scenes were fun to watch. Aims to be Minority Report but too often falls short.

'Repo Men' is not a movie about exploring or explaining the fantastical world where you can buy organs for exorbitant amounts of money, knowing that if you can't make the payments, the company that supplied the organ will retrieve it in the most in-humane and gory fashion possible. It asks that you just accept this reality and see what happens when Remy is thrown to the dogs. It's not about the world, it's about Remy. It gets a bit crazy before the end, but all those problems are explained away.

Think of every futuristic dystopian movie you've ever seen and mash them all together and you will get something like Repo Men. I really liked the premise a lot, but but the film just doesn't deliver on it like I feel it should have. Law and Whitaker are good but their characters are way too outlandish, everything that isn't action is rather boring (the action isn't that great), and it's twist ending is surprising but ultimately lame. Really could have been better.

I thought the premise was ridiculous and the plot isn't very believable either. The characters are mostly unlikeable and I couldn't bring myself to care much about what was happening on screen most of the time. The violence and gore are over-the-top, while this does work some of the time and makes for some cool scenes I wasn't really a fan of this during most of the film. Overall I wouldn't recommend it but at least it's not completely boring.

The "twist" ending was way too predictable, I thought. They hint at it earlier in the movie, but it's not brought up casually at all. It's a (then) pointless comment that just made me think "Oh, I guess that's going to be important later in the movie." But the movie can be fun to watch as long as dumb overly-gritty action is something you can get behind. Also contains what is possibly the most laughably bad explanation of Schrodinger's cat ever.

This was panned by a lot of people but it has shades of Total Recall with Blade Runner and a bit of the ole' ultra violence. The cast is solid in this and without the good actors involved this would have fared far worse. Some of the scenes were pointless though and a lot of the romance and family drama could have been done far better. Alice Braga looks very out of place and was a non essential romantic interest that seemed shoe horned in to try and give the script some emotional depth.

Absurdity taken to a pretty high degree. What a stupid storyline. If you can turn your brain off to the fact that it is entirely ridiculous, then you might be able to enjoy some of the action. But, the action kind of sucks sometimes. This is supposed to be a deep story, but it rings so false it is hard to take any of it seriously. Jude Law was good as was Alice Braga, but Forest Whitaker, not so much. I have to subtract a lot of points for it being so contrived. Points for the effort though.

Repo Men suffers from simply being too derivative; REPO the genetic opera beat it to the punch on the dystopian organ market and Equilibrium beats it in the dystopian fugitive angle. Yes it is over the top, yes there is action that is impossible, but the futuristic look and feel is what makes it buyable.
