Retake

It's may not be Brokeback Mountain, but Retake is a quality gay film. Something that I rarely see despite having seen many gay films via Amazon and Netflix. Retake has an original plot, actually good actors, a camera that doesn't look like it's dated 10 years, and other qualities that are missing from lots of LGBT films. If you are fond of LGBT Cinema, you owe it to yourself to see this movie. It's also one of the few gay films I would recommend to straight viewers.

Mostly watchable and sometimes compelling, thanks to the appeal and great capability of the two lead actors. I was already a Tuc Watkins fan--now I'm a Devon Graye fan, too. The writing has its good moments, but is not consistent enough to make the pleasures unalloyed ones. Still, worthwhile overall.
