Return of the Evil Dead

This has a lot in common with the first one. A bunch of daft folk get harassed by some creepily designed but very slow, and not particularly robust, zombie types. The characters make some very odd decisions. It manages to conjure up some atmospheric moments which elevate it somewhat, although it suffers from some rather dull passages. If you liked the first one, you'll probably like this.

A good date is a lot like the zombies in Return of the Evil Dead: Blind, on horseback, and with someone who listens to everything. These Templar Knights are one casting of Kate Hudson away from a romantic comedy.

This is much better than the other two films I've seen in this series. It got a decent fleshed out story, decent acting with somewhat likable characters. The Templars have much more presence and menace in this one and they move a bit swifter. The music is used sparingly and to good effect. The best part of this movie for me is the fact that the villagers actually fight back against the evil undead onslaught. Nobody does skeletal zombies better than Ossorio, and this sequel is arguably the best of the Blind Dead series.

Não sou muito fã dessa quadrilogia, acho os templários o epitome do cool em cinema de horror (não à toa Peter Jackson fez uma homenagem a eles n'O Senhor dos Anéis), mas acho bem enfadonho quando não estão em cena. Rehash of the original with more gore and a more linear, NOTLD-inspired plot. Any attempt at political subtext or social commentary is diminished by the boring characterization and telegraphed storyline. But hey, Templars!
