Ah yes please take all the humour out of this franchise and yes while you’re at it please make this look like a made for TV movie so I know Brian Yuzna made this. The gore effects are fun.

WWF's The Road Warriors wore it better.

A pretty crappy and mostly humorless sequel which only really seems to exist to showcase a scene with a half naked goth chick shoving broken glass and giant nails through her skin. The 'tragic love story' angle is weak, but the gore is all pretty tasty, and it gets bonus points for the comically stereotyped gang of Latino hooligans. That, and the goth boobs.

An interesting sequel from Brian Yuzna and company that replaces all the dark and campy humor of the first two films with a melodramatic tragic gothic romance plot. Although certainly watchable, the movie definitely has its share of problems, from the mixed-bag of sfx, TV movie score, cheesy dialogue, and spotty acting. However, for being a low-budget early 90's zombie movie, the whole thing still makes for a half-decent watch.

Surprisingly decent mainly because of the competent direction and the fact that the film was played relatively straight with a genuinely bizarre romance. The gore effects were also a return to the quality of the original.

Lacked much of the fun appeal of the first two films, and was a bit boring (and very silly). Probably not worth the effort unless you are in the mood.

Treads much the same ground as Day of the Dead, but with less style and intelligence. It makes up for that with one of the most in-depth looks at the body-horror aspect of zombiedom, particularly with the cruelly hilarious exo-skeleton debacle.

It's amazing how much a schlock concept can be elevated into something thoroughly watchable by having a script that actually seems to be making an effort (if the thought put into the plausibility of the teens' break-in & raised stakes behind the hero's choices are any indication) & most importantly, actors who can act. There isn't much complexity to the love story & the friction between father & son, but it doesn't require it, since the actors make the interactions compellingly believable.

Utter trash, and not the good kind. Some makeup was...aaah forget it.

As cheesy and melodramatic as it is in parts, I adored this. The ending felt a little bit rushed and incomplete, and it wasn't the best one, but it did wrap up the story. Melinda Clarke was really good as the quintessential "bad girl" Julie, and everyone else turned in decent enough performances for a B horror movie. Some really fun zombie looks, decent effects, and a much more dramatic story than its two predecessors- which actually worked quite well. All in all, maybe my favorite of the three.

A sequel in name only, 3 is so loosely connected to previous installments that it may as well be a standalone film. Yuzna directs with customary incompetence, and the effects are poor even for a low budget 90's horror. Some attempt is made to defy genre conventions in the form of a quasi-tragic gothic romance, and Clarke gives it her all, but it's adolescent material that is guilty of both trying too much and not enough, and it has no sense of humour.

Like every other Brian Yuzna-directed film, it's an honorable attempt at a good horror movie. He just never manages to do it

Pretty good take on the franchise, but the horrid special effects nearly sink it.

I only rated it this high because of the sheer stupidity, I to this day can remember laughing hysterically at some of the dialog/acting.

Kinda dark compared to other ROTLD films and hardly funny. Boring at times, but not bad.

The only part I really liked was towards the end when the zombie girl kicks some ass, that was pretty awesome. The rest just wasn't that appealing to me, though it is still far better than most of the new zombie movies made to cash in on the recent surge in zombie popularity.

Against all odds, this third installment is a vast improvement on spoofy part II and almost as good as the original. Thoughtfully put together and refreshingly downbeat, this has good acting and makeup FX.

A laughably bad B-movie with an interesting take on the zombie genre. The special effects are definitely worth mentioning here just because of how bad they were. Makes 80's horror look cutting edge

A germ of a good subtext about relationships in here but just so poorly put together in most ways. Better than the woeful RotLD 2 but obviously not a patch on the original classic.
