Return to Frogtown

In an attempt to offset the loss of Roddy Piper from the series, the sequel/reboot to "Hell Comes to Frogtown"(1987) added Robert Z'Dar to be our new "Rocketeer" looking hero, Lou Ferrigno to get painted green, and Brion James to play an insane over-the-top character for fun. Despite all that, the movie ends up taking a hard dip in entertainment by being far more boring than it should be. Fans of the first film, best to just stop there, unless your are prepared to continue on a zen journey.

Casting Robert Z'Dar to replace Roddy Piper is one downgrade I'll accept happily. The first film impressed me in that it felt like a proper studio B-flick. The sequel is much more what I expect from Jackson now, which includes imo the dope costumes, silly added voice effects and a feeling it was put together by or for stoned pre-teens in the 90s. It seems to make stoned adults happy enough too. Some of the music in this was a special kind of bad.
