By comparison to today's standards, classic Kung Fu movies look amateurish by every available metric down to the fight choreography, and that's why this sequel impressed me so much. It's not just a classic Kung Fu movie, but it's essentially a rehash of the first, but with some side splitting comedy thrown in and an endearing main character. I might raise some skeptical eyebrows when I say this is the most entertaining Kung Fu movie I've ever seen.

Feels a little cold after the splendor of the first 36th Chamber, but the comedy helps to subvert expectations and make a movie that can stand on its own and be enjoyable. Gordon Liu's performance is also great in a very different way to how he was in the first one. The movie just isn't as big or full as how much the first film throws at you. I can't stop comparing this to the first one, but the first one's that good of a movie.

A retelling or variation rather than a sequel, still with great training sequences, and a novel style of kung fu displayed by Gordon Liu in the spectacular last act. Also, the mandatory slapstick silliness is pumped up quite a bit. I believe it's every bit as enjoyable as The 36th Chamber, if not more.

The comedic interludes have given way to complete slapstick nonsense. The film is the worse for it.

Gordon liu does comedy really well which is good bc this film doesn't have much else to offer. Typical storyline, cool showdown. But like i said the comedy performance of liu elevates it and brings life and energy to an otherwise run of the mill kung fu flick

ger; [Die Rückkehr zu den 36 Kammern der Shaolin]; die arbeiter sollen weniger Lohn bekommen und beauftragen einen mann, der vorgibt vor ein Mönch zu sein, und das produziert viel Ärger - er kann letztlich nur helfen wenn er echtes kung fu lernt und geht deshalb zum shaolin kloster.;

This feels mostly like an action-comedy remake of the first film, with the bizarre casting choice of making Gordon Liu the disciple of San Te, Gordon Liu's character from the first film, now played by Kung Chu Lee. It has some pretty cool moments, but character interactions never change over the course of the film, which makes it feel much longer than it should.

I'm gonna be honest, I actually like this one more than the first film a by a little bit because the comedy actually did make me laugh. It follows a similar pattern to the first film, but it riffs on it a little bit, it makes the main character a bit of an idiot. But I was entertained by it, and while it's not as bloody/violent, the choreography is just as solid here, which makes the final battle incredibly exciting.

This is a fun filled action film. The cast looks like they are having a good time and there are some fun stunts. Overall I would recommend this movie.
