Rich Man's Folly (1931) is a simple and predictable melodrama, but I felt George Bancroft, of all people, did a surprisingly strong non-gangster dramatic role. He's still a brute, but this one is a lesson in family or money. A lovely little performance from Frances Dee certainly helped. Didn't over-play her emotions for this to become sappy. Instead it became a worth wild experience.
