Richard the Lionheart

An oblivious film. The real Richard was often a despicable human being (despite what movies say), and this does in fact start with him as a drunken wastrel. The goal here is to show how Richard becomes the admirable Lionheart of legend (but not historical record), yet the writers are so ignorant to the workings of their own story that they depict him early on sexually assaulting a young woman. In a film lacking nuance and wisdom, that reeks of desperation and poisons the whole story.
