Try knowing as little as possible going in. I'll say no more. Other than that I enjoyed it.

I had no idea what this movie was about before watching it, so the wings were a bit of a shock, & I thought the plot had taken a nose-dive at that point. But as it went on I realised that it lined up with what I thought was happening at the start, if you keep the opening scene in mind & take the events more as a representation of a woman's justification for her actions than the movie's literal reality. It's still not the greatest film ever, but it's pretty cool as an exercise in subtextual plot.

It's a different kind of fantasy, sometimes joyful and pounding, and Ozon knows how to go between genres, despite its tone flaws and the unsatisfying finale.

In Ozon's distinctively eccentric style, Ricky applies modern skepticism to the prospect of parthenogenesis (based on an American short story by Rose Tremain), then deepens the concept.
