Riding Giants

It's a movie about surfing, its history and notable figures. If you're into that, it's good, otherwise it's unwatchable.

This is a film about people describing doing something they absolutely love doing, and you see it and hear it in how they talk about it. Its fantastic! It motivates you to go out and do what you love doing.

Breathtaking, mesmerizing, awe-inspiring. I want to quit my job and move to Hawaii.

Surf's up ... loved it. Great history. Waves ... but I went to school in Hawaii , so ...

It would, no doubt, be grossly unfair to reduce this film to being about the proposition that size matters.

I don't surf (though I tried once) or live anywhere near a beach, and yet I found this a very interesting movie. It's great insight into American culture and a very interesting mix of the science of board design and the freedom-loving surfing culture. And even if some of the subjects seem a bit dopey, they can surf circles around you and are enjoying life more than 99% of us. It's hard not to envy that.

When you are into surfing then watch it. Otherwise skip. For me it was boring.
