Riding in Cars with Boys

While D'Onofrio's real life story is certainly worthy material for a film, this adaptation falls flat. During the film we see her struggle to get out of her hometown and go to college; yet we are never allowed to see her dreams become a reality. As a result, the character of Bev never grows much as a person; she remains unlikeable, bitter and thoroughly self centered throughout. Barrymore is clearly trying but she isn't a strong enough actress to inject warmth into her poorly written character.

Its ok. If your drunk.

The moral of the story is that you have to trick women into being nice.

Not really a bad film at all (the bad title is unfortunate, though). I have trouble warming up to Drew Barrymore in pretty much any film she's in, but she plays her role quite well in this. Steve Zahn is probably the highlight.

There were some genuinely charming and an occasional moment you felt for the characters, but at the end of the day, I just didn't care at the end of the movie what happened to them. If you're a Drew Barrymore fan, go ahead and watch it. Everyone else you will want to steer clear.

Some parts were really good, but too inconsistent and weird. It started to be watchable mid-term and the ending was pretty good and touching.

A tough, flinty and unpredictable real life has been softened and unevenly dramatized in "Riding in Cars With Boys." A drama with slight comic inflections may be in keeping with the autumnal moviegoing mood, but excess length and awkward pacing.

One of those loose Drew Barrymore comedies you forget soon after the end of the story. When I was viewing it second time I did not remember anything out of it, but sweet Drew.

What a spoiled brat....I just couldn't ever connect with the movie.

Surprisingly heartwarming, although sketchy acting at times. Drew looks much more convincing being 15 than 35!

This was a good movie.. Not as good as I thought, but i do remember enjoying it.

One of the best performances of Drew Barrymore!! * My daughter is a tramp!!

The first half is funny and charmingly done, but then it losses it freshness and pace. I still value the good time and the effort, I was expecting less when I picketed it.

Its a long time since I have seen this, but I generally remember it a paletable, bar of course Drew Barrymore's bulldog-like face.

Good script some acting was blah.

Drew Barrymore is quirky enough to make this watchable

A Hallmark-esque movie about a struggling teen mom who is also a narcissist. It's interesting insofar as the audience is challenged to sympathise with such a flawed protagonist.
