An utterly generic episode of Law & Order with cussing and Pacino / De Niro hamming it up, and absolutely nothing more.

It's not actually as bad as people say, it's just so goddamn disappointing. DeNiro and Pacino together should be gold, plus Carla Gugino to boot, but a shitty script and fucking Jon Avnet (dont know how he keeps getting Pacino) ruin it. The acting isn't bad, it just...doesn't need DeNiro and Pacino because the script gives nothing to work with. Everyone calling it an episode of Law and Order is right. It's a good episode, sure, but nothing elevates it to good movie status.

The only real appeal of this film is seeing Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in a movie together and that's completely justified. Heat was an incredible movie and I'd be lying if I haven't want to see the duo paired together since. However Righteous Kill is a shallow movie with a twist as blatant as a Saturday morning cartoon plot. The dialog is nothing above mediocre and when the novelty of seeing the two leads together wears off you're left with an entirely mediocre film.

A worthless use of talent to carry on a boring and tedious plot. Not even slightly compare to the on-screen chemistry that is seen in Heat.

Terrible movie and you know it's rather sad when you have a deadpan fiddy cent trying to act alongside greats like DeNiro and Pacino. We can only assume that this film was taken on by everyone involved just for the movie gimmick of putting two acting legends together. The writing is pure trash and it's simply amazing how this project ever got off the ground to begin with. I imagine lots of cocaine and blowjobs were brought to the negotiating table for the greenlight.

Woeful, embarassing, abysmal excuse for a cop drama humiliates its two acting legends with an atrociously written, poorly performed screenplay, and witless amateurish direction (starting with the cheap looking, badly edited opening titles). Hard to find even one redeeming feature in this train wreck -- and then there is an unforgivable cheat of a resolution as well. Suspenseless, brainless and devoid of any interest, even as a curio.

Anyone who loves movies, everyone here in criticker, probably always wanted to see Al Pacino and De Niro working together in a film, (in The Godfather does not counts, they had no scenes together). But not this way. In a monotonous story, with an incompetent director.

To say this was bad is a waste of words. Still, the wife got this from the library, so i sat through it. trying to find a positive, i guess i would have to say that deniro managed to give a good performance. in reality, he probably didnt, but next to the "mailed in" performances by gugino, donnie wahlberg and john leguizamo, and the usual over-the-top blowhard performance by pacino, he is all you can cling to while you snooze your way through this.

Righteous Kill actually isn't as bad as I was expecting. It has an interesting premise and a good twist, it's just that the story feels rushed and formulaic which is reminiscent of an episode of Law & Order or the X-Files or something. Both Pacino and De Niro are fine, it's just neither are great when both have been great so many times before this. Wait for this one to hit DVD stores and then check it out, it's not worth $10 in the theaters.

It's Pacino and De Niro and they're doing things. It actually could have gone to a place that would have made it a somewhat interesting character study, but the choice of gimmick left it pretty shallow and empty.

There's absolutely nothing going for this wash of a film. The script is cobbled together for straight-to-video stars like Seagal and Cuba Gooding Jr. The editing makes the film even more awkward to sit through. Its intentional misdirection is laughable and obvious. The over-the-top dialogue is hard to stomach sometimes. And finally we have DeNiro and Pacino, sleepwalking at their best with little chemistry. What could've been a superb action-thriller turns into a wasteful, head-scratching mess.

I guess what irks most people, and me too, is that they didn't need De Niro and Pacino for this average movie (or maybe it got elevated to an average movie from a possible bad one, by their presence). Neither gripping nor thrilling, I felt that the movie was quite tedious to sit through.

Two such great actors in that kind of movie. How did it come so far?! I mean it wasn't all totally bad in that movie, but just soo predictable. But the worst part is the ending. At least Avnet could have tried to create something on his own. But nooo, he just made up an "I'd love to be Michael Mann directing Heat" ending! Too bad for Al and Bobby.

Bland movie at best. Nothing stuck out here and how you could put Pacino and De Niro together with so little chemistry is beyond me. It wasn't even a decent thriller, not terrible, but not good in anyway. It simply could not make me care for the characters and the twist at the end was so predictable.

Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino co-star together for the first time since Michael Mann's masterpiece Heat. The result is one of the worst movies ever imagined: a screenplay only outdone by its horrific direction. Watch for Rob Dyrdek's amazing on-screen debut for no apparent reason other than to put Rob Dyrdek in a movie.

Tried to make it fast, swift and unpredictable but failed in some parts. The acting is good but the magic is nowhere to be found. And halfway the movie you defenitely already know the ending. Very predictable, but not bad. Has an interesting concept, but could have been worked out much better.

One of the worst -- if the not the very worst -- cop movies of the last decade, featuring De Niro and Pacino in ridiculous roles and a script that tries too hard to create an older version of Dexter while involving your interest in a tricky, hold-your-breath, shit-how-didn't-I-figure-it-out? finale. This is bad.

This is a badly written, cliche movie that only keeps us in suspense for about...two minutes. However, I recommend you check out this film, just to see Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, who are absolutely great in this movie. You'd think a movie pairing two actors of such caliber would've been better. Looks really can be deceiving.

Righteous Kill feels like complete desperation. To think that the likes Robert De Niro & Al Pacino, two of the finest actors in cinematic history, could resort to this. Acting alongside 50 Cent. It's embarrassing. I along with so many other fans of De Niro & Pacino stupidly paid money to watch a 'Heat' reunion. And there isn't a single moment of class or nostalgia. The pair have churned out some poor films in recent years, but this felt like their most desperate money grab to date.

It's almost temping to think that Pacino decided to work again with Avnet after their terrible collaboration on 88 Minutes because he had some dirt on him. But then when you realise that both him and Deniro have spent a good part of the last 15 years making utter dreck, the decision begins to make sense. The script to Righteous Kill is DTV type fodder, and there is no way that they could have elevated the standard of this poor material in late career, or even in their prime for that matter.
