A movie about ugly British people who walk fast and their Thatcher-era blue-collar sexcapades. What I learned from this movie: someone can make a movie about ugly British people who walk fast and their Thatcher-era blue-collar sexcapades and not only will I still watch it, but I'll like it and give it a decent score on Criticker.

Very enjoyable with memorable, albeit interchangeable girls. I thought the movie was going to end when the wife found out. Happy? ending. Fav scene: the whole sequence from Mavis silently telling the wife to the entire argument in the courtyard with the nosy neighbor gawker getting so pumped up.

I finished the movie wondering if what I just watched was intended to be an insulting and misogynist mess, or if they was by accident. It's not very well made, acting is silly, but it has an original premise.

Score based on distant memory. Perhaps deserves higher.

It's funny, well performed and a bit naughty! Well worth a watch. The strap-line of "Thatcher's Britian, with her kickers down!" is one of my favourites ever too, and just sums this movie up perfectly.

Memorable, very 1980's piece of social realism, funny and serious the joyous friendship of the 2 girls keep this film light, although some of the subject matter is dark.

Simply spectacular. By turns humorous and dead serious but maintaining social realism throughout, this is possibly my favorite Alan Clarke movie, even though it's very much unlike the kind of films he is most famous for. So original and so dead on...
