Not a lot of people know Peter Weller - and for good reason. Except for maybe 'Naked Lunch' (or 'The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension' for you weirdos out there) he's an actor of limited success (and appeal). So try following this argument to it's logical conclusion: This dude refused to be in 'Robocop 3'. Refused.

Robot ninja. Is there anything I can say after that to stop you from watching this? It's not good in any way, but I've already lost you to the robot ninja. Why do I always open with that?

Some films surprise you. Some films are so good that you can't believe you waited so long to see them. Some films are able to transcend their trashy confines brilliantly. This... is not one of those films. Dekker, sadly, but understandably, was never offered a director's chair again.

Incredibly stupid, borderline kiddy fare - this is not the Robocop I know and love! Whoever decided that Robocop should fly (with visible strings!) needs to be tarred and feathered.

how to explain this..... First off, neither sequels belong in the same series as the original, but whereas Robocop 2 failed in its utterly unbalanced tone, this entry is faithful to a fault in its cartoonish antics. I kind of like it for the dumb superhero movie that it is.

This toned down, camp-filled Robocop isn't even worth the kevlar-lined titanium he's armored with. Somehow the filmmakers made a movie that clunked ever more than the second one. The inclusion of NinjaRobos and the jetpack only gave them a chance to show off their terrible visual effects. Utter crapulence!

The script is now off the map. There's roboninjas and flying RoboCop. RoboCop is not anymore himself. He's Robert Burke. There's a hint for female RoboCop, but that does not happened. Pretty much of demoliting (police) cars and shooting off the tarket.

Utterly bland & sanitised travesty with zero redeeming qualities & an obnoxious stench of corporate condescention. What a morbidly ironic fate for the series. The fact that young kids might find it a passable distraction somehow makes it feel even more wrong. Say what you will about the 2nd one but at least it had some crazy fun & didn't bank on the annoying 90's kid sidekick trope. In fact the only kid in that movie is a foul-mouthed murdering drug kingpin who gets violently gunned down.

Panned by most mainstream critics, Dekker's film, while falling well short of Verhoeven's original, represents a vast improvement over _RoboCop 2_. Dekker takes the concept in a fresh direction, fashioning what plays like the live-action equivalent of an anime feature. This offers gunfights, pitched battles between Robo and bionic ninjas, high-speed car chases, and even aerial sequences when Robo straps on a jet pack designed by sympathetic scientist Jill Hennessy.

How do you make a movie that feature Robocop fighting a Japanese Samurai Robot boring? How is that even remotely possible. While 2 was cringe worthy, this is just dull which is far less excusable. Loses even more points for killing off Anne Lewis in an incredibly dull, lackluster manner. Fuck this movie.

Unreleased for two years. This was hardly worth waiting for, although it is a slight improvement over _RoboCop 2_. The mayhem is a little more under control, but the story is thin and the Japanese villains are straight off a World War II recruiting poster.

All of the freshness that was in the series is gone by this point. RoboCop 3, like a lot of third installments, is the worst in the bunch, and has very few, if any redeeming features. It made me hate the lead character more than I thought I could, even though it returned him to the way he ended the first film. The action and humor have both been toned down, removing exactly what made the first film -- and to a lesser extent, the second, too -- special. It's just plain awful.

Flying Robocop looks silly & the cyborg ninja doesn't provide the kind of big fight his build up would suggest, but everything about this is significantly better than the last film: the story, the performances (Allen is much improved), & even the way he moves. The last film felt like an unfunny plothole-filled rehash of the 1st film, but this is different having Murphy become guardian angel to citizens forced out of their homes. It follows action tropes, but it makes sense & the dry humor works.

Robert John Burke replaces Peter Weller in the title role — his chin's the spittin' image but all resemblance ends there. With none of the dark wit that made the 1987 original a brilliantly subversive satire, RoboCop 3 teams the supercyborg with a band of rebels and a computer whiz kid (this is something of a touchy-feely RoboCop) against a real estate development corporation that kicks people out of their homes. The struggle builds to a fight to the death against some cyborg ninj

Not as bad as its reputation suggests, and quite acceptable if you are prepared to accept it on its own terms, warts and all. Burke lacks Weller's presence and authority, and the toned down violence definitely detracts from its overall impact. There is some bad acting, the humour is not particularly sharp, the budget is too small, and the social satire is jettisoned in favour of low rent cartoon Cannon style spectacle, but it's relatively well paced and passes the time amiably enough.

Not even remotely as good as the first movie, and Robocop 2 was also a good deal better, but far from the disaster some reviews lead me to believe it would be. Its a completely serviceable PG-13 action movie. Not very memorable when compared to the first two, and the writing and action is a big step down, but not a horrible movie by any stretch.

RoboCop 3 is awful on a completely different level. The second film was surprisingly more violent than the original. This third film however goes completely the other way and tones the violence down dramatically. But to the point where it tries to become a family friendly RoboCop film. And it's completely ridiculous. Even Peter Weller didn't want to return. The transgender looking child genius is horribly annoying and the Ninja Robot is tragic. The ultimate insult to such an iconic character.

It definitely felt like a comic book in tone, and it never has that nasty streak that Verhoeven is rightly appreciated for. In the end, it plays like a Robocop that has to get a comics code seal (which is, of course, exactly what it is, being written by Frank Miller). The whole movie would've been improved exponentially by simply not outright saying the squatters were the good guys at first. Oh, and the jetpack scenes are some of the worst greenscreening I've seen in a movie, ever.

Robocop takes up arms against the evil empire! And it's all pretty stupid and embarrassing. No Weller no bueno! Amusingly this movie is stuffed full of actors who would go on to become TV stars over the next decade (CCH Pounder, Jill Hennessy, Bradley Whitford, Stephen Root).

Its toned down, but unlike the over exaggerated comments I've read by other viewers, this didn't exactly turn into an episode of the Teletubbies and really become a real family film. It's not that bad either, but more of a lackadaisical sequel which finishes the story arc but does so like many blockbusters with more empty space than interesting moments. Now if a fourth big budgeted film had been commissioned, the TV films notwithstanding, then we might have seen something truly bad.

The first Robocop movie was an absolutely terrific, innovative flick. Robocop 2 really sucked, but not as bad as Robocop 3. All pretense of putting together a decent movie goes away in Robocop 3. In short, Robocop 3 is a pure, low-budget trashy sellout made for 8-14 year-olds who were familiar with the G-rated series - the plot goes for the young genius hacker kid and ninja bad guy vice attempting to work up a real plot.
