Robots

It actually has a pretty cool premise for a romcom, and it's always nice to see Woodley. Whitehall and Woodley are good individually but their chemistry does not hold up to other couples in this genre. The way their relationship was written doesn't help. And the film just isn't funny. There's some light political satire haphazardly thrown in there and I'm just like, why? What purpose did this serve besides just wanting to take a swipe at the other side? At least lean into it meaningfully.

This is poor. I usually like Jack Whitehall for his farcical comedy performances and sets but this is a bit too cringey and unoriginal for my taste. The plot is basic and a bit dumb and of course I didn't much like the female characters characterisation. If this is the future of AI, we're in trouble(!) but I wouldn't recommend watching this as such. Its an easy watch I guess but I doubt I'll remember much about it by tomorrow.

Robots misfires in too many ways for it to be considered good. The comedy didn't work for me with most of the humour coming from idiotic characters or slapstick antics. Weak writing uses satirised Republican bashing for cheap laughs & shoddy character development to proclaim that love makes humanity better. Neither Whitehall nor Woodley share enough chemistry to pull off such an unbelievable love story. A film that squanders its potential to solely show the dull moments.

I enjoyed Whitehall in 'Fresh Meat' but this was a pretty damn abysmal "comedy".

I wanted to like this but it's impossible. I literally could not stomach more than 20 minutes of this schmaltz. If it gets better after that, I'll never know.

As weak as they come.
