I watched this as part of a Mary Woronov night I hosted at a local bar. An older woman walked up to me and asked if I knew that there were sports on. We eventually made friends but she was not going to be pledging support to Ramones University I guess. This maintains an enjoyable atmosphere throughout and if you're asking for more than that, than don't come to my movie hosting events that stopped a couple of years ago now and I miss sometimes so much I cry.

In regards to Joey Ramone -- "we did 20 takes and that was the best one." Watched this before the season finale of Euphoria. Sure, Euphoria has a lot more sex and drugs, but no one has blown up the high school yet. Maybe in Season 3.

Fun silly movie with fun and silly music. PJ Soles and Dey Young, the two leading ladies, are really what make this work with their charismatic screen presence. There's an amusing sense of the absurd as well, but too often it feels too comfortable with the cliches it's ostensibly mocking.

When it tries for a plot it fails spectacularly, but all its controlled mayhem is spot on perfect. Who says the youth today have nothing to say?

Adults will never understand Rock 'n' Roll. IT ISN'T THE DEVIL'S MUSIC OLD MAN!

A kind of Ramones version of 'A Hard Day's Night'. Obviously the music is fantastic (not just the Ramones tunes but the rest of the tracks) however the surrounding story is also mostly engaging and not just a prop for the Ramones to perform their music. The message about destroying the school (and schooling more generally) - literally in the final act - is a valid point well made. I was somewhat baffled by Principal Togar's reference to burning the students' records as "the Final Solution".

A fun, light film celebrating rock and roll, and the blueprint for later 80s teen movies. Great music, Sole and Young are fun in their roles, but what's really memorable about this is the Ramone's complete lack of acting talent. "Wow, Pizza!"

It's funny, it's fun, but other than that, you're not going to enjoy it unless you're a ramones fan.

The humor is sometimes alright, but a lot of it is dumb. Exaggerated caricatures and too much music. Enjoyable but nothing special.

Entertaining youth film that may as well be 100 years old given how far removed it is from the 'culture' of today, which really has no equivalent. The fact that the founding members of The Ramones are all dead also adds a melancholy dimension to its existence that really emphasises the passing of time. In short, it is more valuable as an artifact of a bygone era than as a film in its own right while confirming Soles' lack of talent. For fans old punk and Dante, it is a no-brainer, quite literally.

This movie needed less of a plot. It might have been a masterpiece.

My introduction to the Ramones, thus a gateway drug to the punk music I love to this very day, for that I'm grateful. Watching it again recently, it's still pretty good, but not quite as amazing as my 10 year old brain thought it was.

A must for any Ramones fan. Super fun music comedy about what can happen when you fan a little too hard.

Every incredibly uninteresting and cliche 80s teen movie but with this time it's centered around a band that only shows up 2/3rds of the way through the film. This is just boring drivel except for the bit of live performances

"Rock 'n' Roll High School" doesn't possess a significant storyline, instead employing a certain degree of disorder to propel the narrative toward its explosive conclusion. It didn't resonate with me despite its seemingly disjointed elements coalescing into a cohesive whole and its potential to garner a cult fanbase.

The best part of this movie is the great soundtrack. Some of the jokes work, other ones fall flat. The plot is thin but there are a number of enjoyable moments. Overall I would recommend this movie.

Essentially a Ramones concert, but with a pretty funny movie surrounding it. There is absurdist comedy and a teen sex comedy before the rapey vibe of the 80s. Really enjoyable and probably even more so if you are a Ramones fan.
