Romeo, Juliet and Darkness

I started watching this very late in the evening and was sure that I would doze off, but it kept me captivated. I was expecting something closer to Czech new wave, but It’s actually quite old fashioned in style and could have been done in the 50’s. It's just a very professionally crafted WW2 drama, told from the perspective of its young characters without getting preachy. It’s a rare case where I hoped it was a bit longer as some important scenes felt too rushed. Lead actors do a solid job
