Moody and intriguing take on familiar tropes largely works quite well, thanks to committed performances from its leads, and a screenplay which does well to conceal its central secret. Too many red herrings, especially in the early stages break the tension from time-to-time (a pub encounter fraught with violence is a bit of a head-scratching detour) and the ultimate payoff fizzes out somewhat. Still well-worth seeing as a [SPOILER REDACTED] genre entry.
