A lot of jokes fall flat, and there are long stretches where they don't even try to make one happen. The editing is really strange too, there's tons of moments where it feels like the characters weren't even on set together and the wrong reaction shots were used. A few characters/actors are criminally under used, it just doesn't seem like it was trying very hard. They came up with a premise, filled in a few blanks, and called it a day.

"Can Kate McKinnon save this film?", I asked, minutes before realizing the answer was no. The film is over-scripted, and a lot of the laughs are supposed to come from how over-the-top the film becomes. It seems so forced to have to laugh at a scene where a dead stripper, while wearing glasses with a penis nose, gets put into a sex swing.

A disgrace for everyone involved.

... this movie is so full of cliches... women can't be together for a weekend without drama. And why do people never call the police when accidents happen. And why is using drugs still considered funny? This movie is everything that's wrong with most "comedies" these days. Nothing clever about it...

Has its moments, but is relatively rote within its genre and nothing will stick with me.

This film wastes a lot of talented, funny ladies. There are only a couple of laughs for the whole movie. The cast can't rescue the very weak script. Overall this film is really disappointing.

Pretty rough (easy pickin's). The friend chemistry is barely there and most jokes land as awkwardly as the stripper did when Alice jumped on him, and he died-an incident which, incidentally, wasn't handled as roughly and insensitively as I initially feared (the unexpected twist/reveal helps soften the blow). On that note, the wild plot's the best thing about the film, but with mostly bland drama and cringe-y comedy filling in the gaps between points, you're still just waiting for it to end.

Rough Night is what you'll get watching this movie. The writing is painfully derivative, with both plot and jokes being predictable in advance. Each scene felt like it was include to pad the runtime. Johansson wasn't particularly funny though she shared the straight-(wo)man role with Kravitz, who gave a little bit more to the role. McKinnon, Glazer and Bell were good, but even as experienced comediennes, felt held back by the script. I sighed in exasperation at the end of the film.

I love Kate Mckinnon but come on now. Just get an Australian. Andre's lines were great. The moment where they break for pizza made me laugh but that was it really for big laughs

I'll keep riding the ScarJo bandwagon right into the ground if need be. She's my jam. I also appreciate Kate MacKinnon's role today in Hollywood, and damn, how perfect is Zoe Kravitz? I found myself laughing during this more than I thought I might, so in that, this is far from a failure and probably best described as "a movie that I enjoyed watching one time". Would never survive a second viewing. A little too cringey in places for me, with some melodrama that felt really unnecessary. It's fine.

This wasn't as consistently funny as I would've liked, but it was consistently funny enough -- often thanks to Kate McKinnon stealing the show whenever she's on screen. I don't dislike the cast like everyone else, either, except for maybe Kravitz. Johansson especially is given a lot of range to play. Not a bad choice for a throwaway comedy.

OK, so it's a gender-flipped The Hangover. It's just not a very good gender-flipped The Hangover. Or in other words it's essentially The Hangover. A few jokes land, there are a few attempts to make something worthwhile of aforementioned gender-flip that mostly fall flat, and at the end it's all rather pointless unless you're, y'know, nursing a hangover.

Unfortunately, for a certain youthful slice of our society, this sort of ribald farce is the only cinematic comedy they know. They don't know the joys of subtle wordplay or a thoughtful, nuanced application of wit. They've never experienced a well-written humorous patter. Comedy for them is little more than this sort of bottom-feeding, in-your-face drivel. Ain't that a shame?

After leading off with some pro-Gore babble in her leftist candidacy for her state senate, you'd think they'd have tried to lay out something besides a pathetic 50's era sit-com.

First off, the liberal feminism bend of some of this film is pretty annoying and cringy. The obvious Trump/Clinton parody made my eyes roll right out of my head. Besides that it's alright. There's some pretty funny moments and it's always nice to see Eric Andre in stuff.

Burnham was a pleasant surprise because I didn't know he was in this. The chemistry was decent between the ladies. This is a serviceable comedy because I was entertained due to there being just enough jokes to make it a successful comedy. Sure, a lot didn't work, but in the grand scheme of comedy flicks this is better than the truly shit ones. This had a few genuinely great laughs, like the diaper Next Episode one, and a bunch of good laughs scattered throughout.

It seems this is about as good as comedies gets these days. I want the 90's and early 2000s back.

Another comedy I'm surprised didn't do better. While it lacks the kind of big laughs that makes an average comedy great, the humor isn't unfunny. It's easy to see why this script was considered a good one. Structurally the story works much better than most taking some unpredictable twists & turns before arriving at the ending you'd expect. The performances are good enough (although MacKinnon like everyone else, generally only induces a grin rather than a laugh) with Johannson holding her own.

Another average, generic comedy movie. The main thing it has going for it is the cast - I really like most of them, & they do the best they can with the material. Said material, however, is just not that funny. A lot of jokes fell flat, & I really only laughed 3 or 4 times. The screenplay simply isn't that witty, but I also didn't think the direction or editing helped, in terms of timing. It's not a bad movie, & I'm sure some people will like it, but I just didn't get much out of it.

As in Ghostbusters Kate McKinnon singlehandedly keeps comedy alive. Clearly women can be funny and surely she's not the only one. If they would just cast funnier people. Seems a no-brainer: you need 4 funny ones and one straight one, not the other way around. Anyway McKinnon is a true spark, and I'm completely on board with putting Bo Burnham in things.

I dunno, it was pleasant enough, nothing terrible and what laughs there are are pretty special. Kate McKinnon and ScarJo are both at their best.

Espriler biraz amerikan tarzı olsa da son derece keyifli, eğlenceli film. Bu tarz bir yapımdan beklenmeyecek kadar tempo yüksek, genel olarak kurgu ve oyunculuklar da çok başarılı.

Rought Night told such a fun story. The group of women that they collected together for this film are some of the best in the biz. They did a good job of subdueing Johansson's sex appeal in this movie with that Hillary Clinton hairstyle. Jillian Bell is a national treasure and she elevates any movie that she is in. I thought that Ilana Glazer was the most out of place but I guess that is because her character was the most different. The story was fun and kept me interested in the caper.

Sure, it wasn't great, but I enjoyed this. The throughline story is a typical fare, but the chaos that ensues is pretty fun, and at the very least pretty funny. The strong supporting actors allowed this to work as much as it did.
