Look at the summary. I wrote that. I'm not kidding, I swear, that really is the entire film. Perhaps Benning was making some sort of statement of, or about... something. I'm more inclined to suspect that this is a practical joke. While we the audience saw the movie in near-perfect silence, I had to keep myself from laughing a couple of times as I visualized dozens of Arts & Crafts students struggling to read all kinds of deep meanings into this film to impress their teachers and their peers

interesting. i prefer this as a sociological essay on the ruhr region rather than some ontological question regarding the nature of observation. second half was a brutal test of patience.
