Impressively, Runaway Bride manages to last about 5 hours despite its 116 minute running time.

A very cute, funny and charming love story. I always like it when both people in the relationship learn from one another and grow to reach more of their potential and true-selves as a result of the relationship.

Richard Gere and Julia Roberts, in my opinion, are not names that pull me in, sit me down, and make me watch. I just find neither of them interesting and the "Pretty Woman Reunion" is a letdown.

Stupid. The perfect example of a bad rom-com, and Julia should know better.

The first time I saw it, I was bouncing up and down on the couch with happiness and mirth. That hasn't happened in 30 years. It was incredibly funny. I love all the quirky characters, and Julia Roberts just melts my heart when she smiles so big and her eyes light up. Also, her acting is top notch. I watch all my favorites once a year, and sadly, this movie looses a lot on repeat viewings. I gave it a 95 the first time, but the 12th time, it's entertainment value has diminished to an 80.

Julia Roberts delivers a stand-out performance in the movie and Richard Gere is a worthy runner-up. Not a typical love story as such. The movie will linger on long in your memory if you tend to like romantic movies.

Why wouldn't anyone let an annoying horse-faced woman just go? I assume it has to do with something in the drinking water, which makes them think the goofy-looking Roberts is a good catch.

Your run-of-the-mill romcom, it's got nothing new or exciting but it's neither awful enough to warrant any real hate nor good enough to receive much praise.

Richard Gere is a putz, but Julia Roberts is luminous, and I liked the commentary about women losing themselves to try and match their men. "How do you like your eggs?"

A pretty blatant and craven pandering to PRETTY WOMAN fans (guilty!), but as a middling sitcom with A-list stars, it fits the bill, with Gere and Roberts recapturing an easygoing chemistry which helps ease the film through some wobbly and nonsensical plotting (especially as to why these two characters would be attracted to each other). While an overly sustained third act causes some considerable drag (one wedding should have been enough to resolve all the plot threads), it's still fun.

It had some funny moments, but the story was dumb. Gere's character was extremely unlikeable throughout. Roberts' character isn't much better, but at least I felt a slight bit of empathy for her.

The woman is a pathetic, self-absorbed, cowardly asshole, and the movie goes to great lengths to illustrate this point, which I thought was interesting. The biggest flaw is that the man is a cypher, and we are given no good reason why he would become so attached to the woman. But that's beside the point. Runaway Bride is foremost a character study, and the romance between the artist and the reporter is a secondary concern, so the flaws are excusable.

Another We Hate Movies watch. My problems: This film is too long Richard Gere isn't funny, he can't do comedy Julia Roberts isn't beautiful Gere isn't as good looking as we're told Julia Roberts is not a plumber The guitar scene is nakedly self-serving for Gere This is not a small town, this is not how small towns look The product placement The soundtrack The two main characters are terrible people

Typical light Garry Marshal fare. This could have been an interesting story but it wasn't very well acted. Roberts has done better. Maybe I just don't like Richard Gere.

A startlingly beautiful U2-backed opening scene is one of many unexpected elements in this fairly fresh rom-com fare: Gere's mischievous Ike and the small town supporting cast bring a good amount of quirk to the dialogue and plot, Roberts' "runaway bride" character is set up with surprising amount of intrigue and study (the reporter bit helps), even if it doesn't fully live up to it in the end, and although you can see the conclusion coming a mile away, it doesn't come when you think it will.

Julia Roberts's character is flat out a bad person. This would be fine, if she were funny too. Gere and his leading lady have a better film.
