John Maringouin's film about the complex relationship between his Dada artist father and suicidal step mother. The two have lived for years as shut-in pill poppers in the New Orleans suburb of Terrytown. The filmmaker shows up after a twenty five year absence and becomes catalyst for an all out war ala "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe". (imdb)

i don't know what to say. that was some seriously fucked up shit. john maringouin's sense of aesthetic is fascinating and only makes this more horrifying. he doesn't lend his parents much sympathy. just, wow. maybe like a non-fiction harmony korine movie, i dunno. a very unexpected ending. thanks djross for the recommendation!
