Its a fun ride but I could never shake the feeling that I was watching a compilation of a much longer live action TV show where all the missing backstory and depth could be found.

I have watched this twice now, the best I can say is it's alright. The fact is that it is such a huge arc in the manga, that it was always going to be nearly impossible to make it work. Try as they might, this doesn't live up to the manga at all, and the missed opportunity with a character arc in the first film comes back to bite them in this one.

Kenshin's quiet life is interrupted when officials enlist him to stop Shishio, another deadly assassin who worked for the government during the war, who is now trying to overthrow them. The main villain looks bizarre (no doubt owing to his manga origin), and the sudden ending resolves none of the story threads, but this is another excellent samurai action film with solid writing and direction. Proceed directly to "The Legend Ends" for the conclusion of the story.

I watched all the anime series way back in the day. So it was good to see all the characters and the action was pretty cool too. It was all only a little peacefull for my liking :D .. bring back the killing battousai!

There was not as much that was novel or new material to like about this second installment of the Rurouni Kenshin story. There were a few entertaining moments, but also a few too many dead-end plot diversions. It ended as the first half of a final story.

A significant drop from the 1st film. A few interesting fight scenes can't keep the rest of the film propped up.

The second Rurouni Kenshin film and the fun continues. The villains made this one. The burnt mummy, the super smooth smiling man, and even Sawagejo Cho, being way too anime for this live-action film. I'm having a good time growing to love anime without actually watching the anime. Was the same with One Piece.
