This movie has a few exceptionally well choreographed sword fights. Except for the silly, over the top sword fight with the bandaged villain at the end, the plot is compelling & engaging. Dialog is classic Japanese. Excellent swordsmanship & charismatic characters make it engaging & interesting. Takeru Satô was especially good as the protagonist. Masaharu Fukuyama was a great teacher. The talented kid Ryûnosuke Kamiki was also a pleasure to watch. Fans of sword fighting movies will love this.

Packed with tons of memorable villains and inventive swordplay, the final 40 minutes is one huge non-stop fight scene on a warship being bombarded by cannon fire. A fantastic trilogy: Takeru Sato's physical performance as Kenshin over the course of three movies is nothing short of astonishing.
