Rustlers' Valley (1937)
Lucky is falsely accused of robbing the local bank and assumed drowned in the river while being pursued by a posse. A grieving Hoppy takes exception to remarks made about his presumably dead young friend by local lawyer Cal Howard, and Hoppy knocks him down in public. Howard is engaged to Agnes, the pretty and personable daughter of local cattle rancher Glen Randall, who has borrowed heavily from the town bank in order to buy a herd of breed cattle. (imdb)

The 12th movie in the Hopalong Cassidy series is a good one. Better then most western you'll see from 1937 anyway. Down tempo, and lots of charm with old Gabby Hayes at his best. Loved the old guy when he was having a tear in his eye. William Boyd is a likable hero. Hardly the most original of plots, but it had Lee J. Cobb in one of his first significant roles as a credible bad guy lawyer.
