What a wild ride. The movie is probably much more high-brow than it came off to a plebeian such as myself who is not well versed in ancient history. To me, it's a sex comedy that has no moral qualms making incest and bestiality its core source for humour and drama. You would definitely need a French mindset to... "appreciate" it, I guess? I would have shrugged this whole endeavour off as completely tasteless garbage had it not been for the second to last scene.
