[Arnold's brain while watching The Expendables] "Fahk joeh Stahloon yor movie is vor poesies. I ken doo dis shid too, some boelsjit stoory about annojing toff guyes led by an ancient action stahr. But maai movie will be bettur becaus " (Psi-spy Agent 11 Field Report's note: this is where the thought stops. We didn't lose the brain-feed. He just.. never finished that thought. Never experienced that before. Creepy.)

I applaud Schwarzenegger for trying to take a step in the right direction by finally jumping into the current year and shedding his cartoonish sensibilities, but 'Sabotage' is an unnecessary attack on the viewer. F-bombs replace written dialogue. The characters are completely unlikable. The overt carnage doesn't serve the story which only becomes increasingly nonsensical. You suffer while you watch it and it never leads to anything worthy of your time.

I challenge you to rank the worst acting performance in this. Is it Arnold? Worthington, Olivia Williams, or Mireille Enos? It's difficult because they are all terrible. Enos is particularly bad with her methhead combat chick role. The actors sound bored, like they know all the lines they are reciting are absurd. The violence is over the top and pointless nihilism. It's gore on top of gore like a slasher flick with even less point to it all.

Trained beefcakes shoot shit, go to a bar to celebrate, shoot more shit, go to a bar to mourn, shoot more shit, go to a bar to discuss plans, shoot the shit out of each other. It's like watching one of those Bounty Hunter reality shows, but with fewer people named after dogs. Still waiting for Arnold to say "I'm too old for this" in one of his post-governator roles. Refuse to die until he does.

Skip Woods must be high on crystal meth 24/7. I don't see any other explanation for the completely effed up scripts he's been churning out over the years. Plus 5 for Ahnuuuld's cowboy hat.

Schwarzenegger is possibly as good as he ever has been acting wise, and although that may not be saying much, this is worth a look for fans. Its let down by an irritating supporting cast, with pathetic character names, who I couldnt wait to see get killed off.

I don't know why people didn't like this movie because I loved it. Was it flawless? No, but it was nearly "Must See" material and much better than I thought it would be. It was not the action fest that I was led to believe but that actually made it better. Definitely one of Arnold's best acting roles.

Sabotage is definitely one of the biggest disappointments of 2014. Arnold Schwarzenegger films will always get my attention, but this has to be one of his worst. Arnold isn't the problem. But almost everything and everyone else is. I expected so much more from David Ayer and at times this looks like a straight to DVD release. Violence doesn't offend me but here it's unnecessarily excessive. The writing is truly woeful and the supporting cast is the most unlikable set of characters I can recall.

There are some talented and charismatic performers in the cast, but this is some seriously low-rent shit. The direction's clunky, the script's nonsensical, and the overall vibe this production gives is that of some weak-ass DTV Mickey Rourke vehicle from the late 90's. Arnold's post-gubernatorial comeback has yet to impress, sadly.

It's pretty dumb. Feels like they were really trying to go for some A-Team shit. The dialogue is hit-and-miss between funny, charming & genuine, and stupid, cliched & generally terrible. It does a few scarce moments of tension fairly well, and definitely has an edge to it. The movie's best shot at sentimentality with the storyline of John and his family is totally undercut when he has sex with the homocide PI. The movie gets willfully dumber from there, all the way to its "okay" conclusion.

Sorry, Arnold, but your name is not Clint, despite the hat, the cigar and the older-than-God looks. Ayer basically tries to transplant his finest film, End of Watch, and its Domino-esque palette, into another cops-are-dirty-but-they-do-their-job drama, a plot that here is highlighted by Arnold's presence -- and, what a bummer, one of his worst performances. The sense of brotherhood seems severely lame -- the DEA gang is too brutal, but Olivia and Harold manage te rearrange some EOW material.

Pretty sleazy and ballsy, albeit a little too testosterone-fueled and bro'd-out for its own good. But man, by the standards of latter-day Arnie, this is practically a classic.

All over the place, with horrible characters and a typically awful Ayer screenplay, made even worse due to collaboration with talentless hack Skip Woods. But I'll be damned when the day comes and I stop enjoying Arhnuuld shooting things and doing some of his 'acting'. Surprisingly nasty too.

not to be confused or in any way connected with a legendary beastie boys music video, this piece of shit mainly serves as yet another low in the ex-terminator's career. i'd almost say it's rock bottom, but i'm unsure if there isn't something even worse on the way. everything is abysmal here, no exceptions. i could film a stick lying on the road, and it'd make for a significantly better experience. mr.schwarzenegger, please end this while you still can! you're not arnyoung anymore, you're arnold.

My biggest problem with Sabotage is that I had no emotional investment in the characters who were just a bunch of drunk and drugged up filthy scumbags with guns. In fact, I actually enjoyed seeing them get axed one by one throughout the film. The dialogue is trashy and the action scenes are edited poorly with "flashy" angles added in. It surprises me that this got a wide theatrical release because it wreaks of straight to home video quality. Don't be upset if you missed out on this one. 2 STARS

If Arnie's post-gubernatorial movie carrier can be compared to a long time sober alcoholic back on the bottle - And I see no flaw in doing so - then Sabotage is his 5 day bender, downing Jack Daniels and puking on Strippers named Crystal.

One of the strongest reactions I had during this movie was that "wow, this movie really doesn't like women." But that's too simple a reaction, because more than that, this movie does not like anyone. Aims to strip Arnie of his campier attributes by replacing them with grit but just ends up soulless and cynical.

Seems like a monkey wrench got thrown into the gears of the writing for this film. It was overly violent, overly crass and overly dumb. Arnold looked a little too old in this film, he makes Clint Eastwood look like a spring chicken. Olivia Williams was pretty good, although she was very underused. Terrence Howard once again proves he might have ruined his career by turning down the Iron Man sequels...

Dull, plodding, lifeless, shapeless, and completely lacking any kind of distinction or merit, Arnie's supposed departure from norm is a complete dud. Even the visceral qualities fail to engage, as they are submerged beneath an overly convoluted and stupid story that isn't remotely interesting. There are some grizzly action scenes, but they arrive too late to really make a difference after the opening reel. Sabotage resembles a cheap DTV effort and it's a complete waste of everyone's time.

I wsh someone would have sabotaged this film during the writing process and started again. The script is just dreadful and some of the performances are beyond bad. Unfortunately for Arnie he is the worst part of this film. Hes never been the best actor but I dont think hes even trying anymore. I like the idea of the storyline and there are some positive moments but its all poorly executed and leads to a disappointing conclusion.

As an Atlanta resident with a crush on Olivia Williams, I don't think I've ever felt my heart break as badly and as frequently during a movie. That being said, Josh Holloway as a redneck named "Neck" is hilarious and a highlight in movie casting history.

Following his surprise success of his previous film Ayer makes another rather similar film and I thought both were good and not great, although the previous one gets praised through the roof for some reason. I do like the dark tone of this flick which works well with the material being presented.

Yet another movie where it is clear the writers have a massive erection for military-like fratboyness and ugly 40-somethings shooting Hispanics. Also notable for have no female characters. Yes, there are women in the movie, but no, they aren't characters. One is a male replaced with a female that acts almost the same, and one is primed to be Ahnold arm candy and cry at the sight of blood.

There might have been a decent film here but it looks like someone Sabotaged it (See what I did there?) before the final cut. Sabotage mainly doesn't know what it wants to be, a full blown R action film, a revenge flick or a detective murder mystery, so it tries to be all of them and unsurprisingly fails. It remains watchable cause it's Ahnuld with big guns again but it's not a return to his action hero prime.

What it lacks in plot it makes up for with brutality. It definitely straddles the line between action movie and gorefest, before decidedly becoming a gorefest with machine guns. Surprisingly, an underrated genre.

Not what I was expecting, but I was entertained nonetheless. It's an interesting take on the mystery genre, with some solid action sequences to keep it from being too dialogue-heavy. Could have been much better with different writers.

t's not that there isn't some craft behind it all or maybe even a bit of acting skill in play. But when you're handcuffed to your theater seat being gnawed at by this brain buster, none of that really matters much. You just wish you didn't have to suffer through it. (pluggedin.com)

Mostly not trying for high-adrenaline action movie, and lacks the extreme simplicity of solicited identification familiar from almost every Schwarzenegger film, which I suspect accounts for negative responses as much as the film's actual limits, which are not insubstantial. The narrative is oddly oblique, as is the title; 'Self-sabotage' might have fit better. Not very exciting; better than I expected. Hard to disagree with Mireille Enos's final assessment of who deserves what i.e. her, money.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is still some kind of powerhouse, but this movie doesn't deserve him. Stock tropes by the barreful, risible dialogue, a mystery that fails to involve. It's darker than I'd anticipated, and that's to its credit, but it's not enough.

Now THIS is an action film. Every frame of unflinching open-season gunplay is more than earned. Ayer doesn't just verite his way through a grunt's eye view of law enforcement. From minute one, he truly cuts through the veneer and shows us how tightly this DEA crew counts on one another with the synchronicity of a wolf pack, how insular the code in the marrow makes them. That's just in the first 30m. And from there, you only forget to be on edge when the credits roll.
