Sadako v Kayako

It's not as low-effort as it could've been and there's a few creepy moments scattered throughout, but once you get to the climax you realize you've been waiting 80 minutes to see two nightgown-wearing Japanese ghostladies with long black hair twitchily walk up to each other in the dark and it dawns on you that maybe, just maybe, you need to set better priorities in life.

Not awful, but a wasted opportunity. The plot ties itself in knots to justify the title matchup, rather than just getting down to it. Has its moments of genuine creepiness, but very little of the dread that the originals delivered and almost none of the fun the title promises.

Goofy fun. Both legends are rewritten and changed to suit the needs of the story so this is in no way canon but it is fun.

Just a fun horror movie that actually does suspense pretty well. More of a ring movie than a grudge movie, as the grudge feels like an after thought subplot. But honestly in the end ends up just being a fun little watch that doesn't wear out its welcome. Also the "supernatural" character that every ringu movie must have by law, is funny and doesn't kill the plot like in mainline ringu films. So plus there
