Two clans of snakes cohabit in the desert. Beautiful green serpents that live under the shelter of an oasis, protected and venerated by men and poisonous snakes that survive in the sand, dust and heat, hunted and killed by the Tuaregs. Here is the story of Ajar, a young poisonous serpent, laughed at by his peers because he still has not done his first moult and that of Eva, rebellious princess of the oasis who wants to escape to escape an arranged marriage. Visually, it has its moments at times, as the CGI is alright, some textures are nice to look at, and they put a few colorful psychedelic scenes. Though the plot is weak and has oddly approached serious themes barely dealt with later on. I'm not sure it would hold a kid's attention all the way through either.

Wow, that wandered all over the place for 'plot' and I use the term very loosely. Has some decent animation, and sometimes you're impressed with it- and then it squanders it. The characters are just bland, unlikable.

I was yawning a lot through the deserts of Sahara (2017). A standard 2nd tire animation film about a few snakes and a scorpion looking for a kidnapped lady snake. Not surprisingly with that scenario they struggle to make this funny. But kudos for the druggie psychedelic scene and referencing Freaks (1932) ("One of us! One of us!"). Not that the target audience would get any of those.
