Few films have entertained, scared or hurt me as much as this truly iconographic Danish animation gem that basically ruled my childhood - and haven't lost most of it's tremendous power since. The shooting of Bambi's mother may be animation history's most famous death scene - but the brutal slaughtering of Samson's mother is even more gut-wrenching, for instance.
