The saloon gunfight near the end redeemed a lot of this.

flynn admitted to being less comfortable in westerns than he was in swashbucklers and it shows. even in a foreign genre he still is awesome, i think that's at least partially because of walsh. it's a pretty good western, and great choice for technicolor.

Solid Errol Flynn Western with a good deal of action (the climax drops as many bodies as a Peckinpah film). Could've used better villains and a more likable love interest.

Beautiful to look at. Errol Flynn in full Technicolor always is. They go a little too ambitious with the story with a lot of side elements taking up too much time without adding anything, watering the experience down. Perfectly fine Hollywood eye candy, but the story doesn't have the same great touches as Flynn's legendary adventures.
