A comedy about problems we all know of and can relate to, metafictional in various ways: maybe his life's structure aligns his scriptwriting formula? (Summary by AndreasThau)

If you're a dude, you can definately relate to the first part of the movie, which is close to spot on, but then it turns away from the whole truth about men theme and becomes more meta-fictional. That could have been it's death, but instead it serves as a great way of relating to the everyday mans trivial life which resembles the formula of scriptwriting. The ending though, seems a bit rushed and even though I liked it I think it could have been improved. We all wanna find Zekaya!

What a surprise! The way the story is told is refreshingly smart like Woody Allen at his best.

Reminded me of 'Adaptation.' but with some extra squeezes of existential crisis. Arcel is one of Denmark's very best directors and certainly our most versatile. This would probably be my favorite of his films.

I thought it presented one of the more original, humorous experiences from a danish film that I've had for years. It was hilarious and at the same time very convincing, natural, understable - hell, realistic! In its own kinda way... I would definitely recommend it for everyone. I really think it'll surprise people positively. Arcel is really someone to keep an eye on and the casting of Lindhardt and (and I don't know why I thought this) his mom, Karen-Lise Mynster, was perfect.

I love the film's overall message which I think is very true. But besides that I didn't find the film that interesting. I think the 'look at me' meta stuff makes it a bit too smug and overblown. I'd have preferred a more simple, down-to-earth style which I think would have suited the serious existential issues better. If the whole film was like the last scene, I'd have loved it.

Witty, playful and enjoyable through and through. This has appeal for self-appointed film afficianados and general fans of humor. It's a date movie, a boys night out movie and has shades of a chick flick. Thats really not bad for a dane on his third movie.

A film that is both intelligent, funny and moving. This script is near perfection and Nikolaj Arcel is quite simply a film maker with no equal in Danish cinema.

The modern gender premise as well as the meta take on movie cliches works better on paper than actually executed, but nonetheless points for trying and more than decent from both an artistic and entertainment-wise point of view... Oh, and two words: Rosalinde Mynster (and a third: Yum!).

I really liked the beginning. It was very self reflective and had that Danish black humor feel, however ironically it became as cliched as the character's own fears of becoming. Although I must say that is a thought provoking film on some level and captures to some degree the angst of being in one's thirties. Not a bad film, with a descent premise but the execution was a bit stale.
