Sarah Silverman is not funny.

If you've seen Sarah Silverman's act before, this movie is not funny. If you're not surprised by a cute girl saying naughty things, this movie is not funny. The pacing is murderous as well, as it is somewhat incompetently directed (sorry, Sifl and Olly fans). Good only for Silverman neophytes, and even then this film might turn them off.

Lynch's mundane directing will be familiar to anyone who's seen an HBO comedy special in the past twenty years, and his artless efforts to intersperse little skits throughout doesn't make it any more distinctive. Silverman is overly reliant on the juxtaposition of an attractive women sweetly saying things that are offensive. There are bits that are cleverly constructed and her daring is admirable at times, but it's still a single joke spun into more derivations than it can handle.

Not as funny as I'd hoped it would be. The songs are pretty lame.

This is typical Sarah Silverman; hilarious, yet also uncomfortable.

Not a very effective mix of stand up and skits. Sometimes laugh out loud funny, sometimes just waiting for it to get back to the jokes.

The stage material is the best and mostly funny. I did not like much of inserts and the frame story was not funny at all.

too short, stand up parts great, intermezzos only used to extend the movie beyond 1 hour

Half of it was funny, half of it was unnecessary. She would like to think she has edgy humor, but I fail to see what "edge" it has. I laughed quite a bit though anyways.

This is basically a concert movie. 80% of the movie is just a recording of her performance doing stand up comedy. The humor is similar to "The Aristocrats" - very dirty, racist and "provocative" whatever that means. However this movie suffers from the same problem The Aristocrats did - it's too long (even at 90 minutes). The humor works best when it's shocking (thanks to the delivery - she does a great job pretending she is completely not surprised by what's coming out of her mouth) but

My only gripe with this movie is that it's too short.

The songs are terrible and a little embarassing. That said, her stand-up act is hilarious and her delivery is perfect.

Acceptable stand-up act. Not much of a "movie" though.

The movie works when it leaves Silverman alone onstage with her material, and her songs. What doesn't work are the interspersed "short film" vignettes that serve only to stretch the movie to feature length. Perhaps there just wasn't enough material: even with the vignettes, the movie barely runs 70mins. Still, as 70mins of gay, racist, holocaust, 9/11, AIDS jokes as delivered by a cute and precocious Jewish girl, it's funny enough to recommend. With better direction, it could have been great.

The skits are mostly garbage, but the stand up is some of the finest stream of consciousness meta societal stupid people mocking material there is.

It's not a movie, it's a stand-up special with Tenacious D style music.

A decent stand-up performance. A LOT of racist jokes. Not that I was offended or anything, but at a certain point you have to ask for a bit more creativity.

Most of this material here (and there isn't much of it) is recycled from the same routines she's been doing for years. So if you're new to the jokes, it's pretty funny, otherwise there's not much to look forward. Most of the interstitials flops, too, but I liked the intro.

Not really as good as I thought it would be. The musical interludes should have been axed.

My first encounter with Sarah Silverman, and thought it was hilarious. Yes, it is just a stand up routine with song numbers cut in.
