Few funny jokes, The owl running gag was one of the few, and the father thinking everything was fine. Otherwise it was slow and not really fun. Most monsters were overstaying their welcome. The treatment of the teenager (?) girl was weird

Despite the punning title, this isn't a spoof of slasher movies but an old-fashioned haunted house comedy. Too silly for words, but a good comic cast and funny gags put this squarely in the "So dumb it's fun" category.

this is really one of the stupidest comedies ever filmed. Not funny in the slightest.

A few mildly interesting moments (they live on Elm Street) & Jeffrey Tambor aside, this was just as entirely mediocre as I'd always feared it would be & I'm disappointed by how forgettable every single thing about it is. Was this funny to anybody in the early 80's? Was this flat, lifeless style of parody considered comedy back then? Some moments gave me Student Bodies vibes in the worst way. Credit to the cast for at least trying, though. Still, I'm not going to remember this in like a week.
