Saturday's Children

John Garfield being turned into a nerd. I guess this is the studio turning him into a 'safe' likable actor instead of playing to his strength. The rebel blood. And Claude Rains must be tired of playing Garfield's father-in-law by now. Regardless of all that this is a pleasant family film with the sweetness of Anne Shirley being what shined through. Combines the comical and realistic approach of young family life in a way that children of the depression would understand it's message.
