Scaramouche

Lavish, polished adventure: grand, gorgeous settings, with a cast of thousands, glowing cinematography, amusing reaction shots, etc. Rex Ingram's (extremely expensive) stock in trade, served up in smooth and entertaining fashion. Since an Orphans of the Storm comparison is inevitable: this film features the more Danton-ish Danton, pockmarks and all, though personally leading a march of thousands upon the Tuilleries, singing the Marseillaise all the way, may be a bit over-the-top.
