Unable to find open range near Hollywood, western actor Tom Baxter and his troop head to Judy Blake's ranch to shoot their film. Tom soon learns her foreman has been rustling and poisoning her cattle. When Tom threatens to expose him, Judy is kidnapped and the troop told to leave. With an expert makeup man available. A western about shooting a western! Edgar Kennedy's movie team tries to find a suitable location to film their cowboy movie and gets tangled up in some local mix-up. Lon Chaney Jr. is one of the bad guy trying to rustle the local girl's cattle, but movie star Tom Keene gets to be a real horse riding hero helping Dorothy Wilson out. Combines comedy and western action nicely for a quick fix. There are a few cameo appearances from big stars like Myrna Loy, Joel McCrea and others!
