I liked the idea but it goes on well past the point where it's effective.

Brakhage presents the hazy, jumbled point of view of a child, frightening but also joyful. It's effective, but it makes its point early and then just keeps going.

Almost unspeakably evocative; it absolutely nails the stage of childhood where even the commonest activities and objects are magical. The optional soundtrack has interesting analog textures but is sporadic enough to be distracting and at times takes a jarringly sinister tone; I'd recommend watching it silently first and then rewatching with sound if you're interested.
