Seeding of a Ghost

Not what I expected, but this actually has much to commend it. Initially nasty, a woman enduring some unpleasant treatment, then it heads off in an escalatingly barmy and violent direction as supernatural mischief is unleashed. Almost plays as a gory black comedy, with some ropey (but curiously effective) effects, rubbish dialogue and performances that could be best described as "enthusiastic". Warning - there is much gratuitous nudity, and a character called Dr Wang. Make of that what you will.

It was like the Thing had sex with Riki-oh and a haunted mahjong parlour.

A woman gets raped and murdered, so her husband uses Black Magic to raise her spirit to get revenge on those who wronged her in this Shaw Brothers action/horror flick. Pretty slow to get going, it eventually offers up all kinds of supernatural strangeness, culminating in a slobbering tentacle monster attacking a mahjong parlor and spraying fountains of gore everywhere. There's a ton of gratuitous nudity and the Taoism vs Black Magic battle is pretty sweet too.

Watching this film felt like a scraping a bottom of medical waste container - plot makes no sense, production values are very low, special effects are laughable. Worst Hong Kong supernatural horror film I've seen so far. Why the fuck Normal Chu agreed to be in this?

The first part of this movie is pretty sleazy and then the really brutal rape happens. After that are escalating waves of craziness.

Boring for 80 minutes and the last 10 minutes gets real zesty.
